Never Again
Forever Ending Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Building a better self again. Indemnification in heart, soul and head. Beginning to start, forgetting to end the ideal portrait of self-lenience. Crossing the lines between mice and men. Designing blueprints on the perfect dead end. Negative impact, or so recommend. Never again, never again. When everything is a casualty silence will break even the most discreet. A thousand plus words can sometimes mean nothing at all compared to serenity. The stars are gone; she's lost her way, stumbling backwards more everyday. Her perfect complexion, shining eyes turn into everything she comes to despise. She doesn't realize her hair, her eyes, her smile. Everything's perfect. I wake up Tuesday, mourning. Sadness prevails and I can't recall those stupid things I said the day before. I'm building a better me as I watch the stars slowly fade away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Forever Ending's song, Never Again, depict a person's struggle to improve themselves and let go of their past mistakes. The opening lines, "Building a better self again. Indemnification in heart, soul and head," suggest the singer's determination to make amends with themselves and become a better person. They aim to forget the past, but it's easier said than done, as the singer is consumed by their own self-doubt and insecurities. They are designing blueprints for the perfect life but seem to be stuck in a dead end.

As the singer ponders over their future, they are confronted with negative thoughts and experiences that haunt them. However, amidst all this self-doubt, the singer's resolve to never repeat the same mistakes again is unwavering, and they repeat the phrase "never again" as a reminder. The singer acknowledges that silence can be a powerful tool in healing and recovery, and sometimes, one does not need a thousand words to find solace.

The last few lines refer to the singer waking up feeling mournful and regretful about what they said the previous day. They acknowledge that self-improvement is a continuous process that requires effort and dedication. The stars fading away serve as a metaphor for lost opportunities and regrets. The overall message of the song is one of resilience and determination, encouraging the listener to look forward to a better future by overcoming past mistakes.

I had no clue who this was until last week. A younger coworker played this in the car on our work trip. I was instantly taken back to 1988, and asked when the song was written, as I thought I had completely missed out on a freaking gem of a song for 30+ years of my life. I was amazingly surprised to find out this song was written this year. This is the best throwback to the 80s I have ever heard.

Listen to his music. If you like this one, listen to 'maniac'. To me that's another 80s feel type song. Maniac was the first song I ever heard my sis showed me and I was obsessed from then on. Really all his songs are perfection. Heather, comfort crowd, Greek God, checkmate, sober, memories, affluenza, people watching..I could go on I love all his old(esp old stuff)
