And now, the end is near
I can sense that the end is coming.

And so I face the final curtain
I am now ready to take on death with open arms.

But then again, too few to mention
But these mistakes are insignificant in comparison to my successes.

And saw it through without exemption
I saw my decisions through to the end, without wavering or giving up.

I planned each charted course
I had a plan for my life.

Each careful step along the byway
I took each step in life carefully and thoughtfully.

But more, much more than this
But beyond that, I did things my own way.

I did it my way
I lived life according to my own rules.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
I'm sure you're aware that I faced challenges.

When I bit off more than I could chew
When I took on more than I could handle.

But through it all, when there was doubt
Despite the uncertainty, I remained confident.

I ate it up and spit it out
I took the challenge head-on and overcame it.

I faced it all and I stood tall
I faced all the challenges that came my way and persevered with dignity.

And did it my way
And I did all this on my own terms.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I have experienced all the emotions of life.

Had my fill, my share of losing
I have lost a few battles over the years.

And now, as tears subside
Now, in my final moments, I feel at peace.

I find it all so amusing
I find the events of my life amusing and somewhat ironic.

To think I did all that
When I think about what I have achieved in life...

And may I say, not in a shy way
And let me say this without reservation...

I never compromised my values or forfeited my autonomy.

I did it my way"
I have always done things my way and lived life on my own terms.

For what is a man, what has he got?
From a philosophical perspective, what value does a human life have?

If not himself, then he has naught
A man who doesn't remain true to himself is of no value.

To say the things he truly feels
It is important to speak your mind.

And not the words of one who kneels
And not to say what others want you to say.

The record shows I took the blows
The proof is in the pudding - I faced adversities in my life head-on.

And did it my way
And in the end, I did everything according to my own rules.
