Across the Mirror
Forever Slave Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In this way
The questions were
My dust
In a blind crime
The truth was a big lie
No ways in Hell
Across the mirror
Is the way to Hell
I wasted my chance
I never felt
Your words again
My passions were
My death in a whisper
The truth was a big lie
No ways in Hell
No life in dreams
Across the mirror
Is the way to Hell
I wasted my chance
Across the night
Is the way to Death
I wasted my chance
No ways in Hell
Across the mirror
Is the way to Hell
I wasted my chance
No ways in Hell
The lyrics of "Across the Mirror" by Forever Slave depict the narrative of someone who has reached the end of their existence. The first few lines of the song signify that the singer has reached their end and that the questions of their existence have all turned to dust. The line "In a blind crime" could suggest that the singer's life was not in their control, or that they lived their life blindly, unaware of their actions and their consequences.
The lines "The truth was a big lie, No ways in Hell, No life in dreams" suggest that the singer has lost hope and that their life was a lie. This could suggest that they didn't live the way they wanted to or that their dreams were unfulfilled. The repetition of "No ways in Hell" emphasizes the despair that the singer is going through. The chorus "Across the mirror is the way to Hell, I wasted my chance" signifies that the singer realizes that they aren't going to be able to change their fate or their past deeds, and that their only option now is to cross over to the other side.
The second verse, "Across the night is the way to Death, I wasted my chance, No ways in Hell" further emphasizes the idea of death being the only way out and that the singer has missed their chance to right their wrongs. Overall, the lyrics suggest that the singer has lived a life of regret and that now they are aware of the truth, it is too late.
