Lunatic Asylum
Forever Slave Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She found a door
Her parents were killed
Their blood was in her hands
Con su mirada en tierra
Sus ojos ocultan secretos
Innocent! The Shades will get you down
Innocent Alice
Is tortured by darkness
How a strange fantasy
In Dante's paradise
Con su mirada en tierra
Sus ojos ocultan secretos
Innocent! Alice tortured by Darkness
Innocent! The Shades will get you down
In the shades of the night
And fire in her eyes
Con su mirada en tierra
Sus ojos ocultan secretos
Innocent! Your soul
Come back to the Shades.
Her sweet voice shakes
With this sentence
Con su mirada en tierra
Alice reclama el destierro
The lyrics of Forever Slave's song "Lunatic Asylum" paint a picture of a disturbed young woman named Alice who has been admitted to a mental institution. She feels trapped and alone within the walls of the asylum, but she discovers a door that offers her an escape from her madness. However, her past haunts her as she remembers the horrific event of her parents being killed and her hands stained with their blood. Alice is narrated as someone who is innocent and tortured by darkness, unable to escape the clutches of her disturbed fantasies while living in a world that to her is like Dante's paradise.
The lyrics also mention her eyes that hide secrets, implying that she is not just a victim but also someone who may be capable of dark deeds or has witnessed something sinister. The chorus of the song repeatedly emphasizes Alice's innocence, highlighting how unfair and unjust it is that she should suffer in the asylum. The song portrays Alice as someone who is uncompromising, seeking to escape the asylum and the tormented life within it.
