Plans
Fort Hope Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm thinking about your heart tonight
I'm thinking about your heart
I'm the crown and you're the thorns
That bloodied me from the start

I'm sick of thinking about your words
And thinking about your lies
Forming black clouds of doubt
Polluting our lives

I'm thinking about you too much again
Thinking about you too much
There's no use in thinking when
When you're feeling out of touch

I just keep thinking about one thing
You definitely taught me right
Bridges won't burn
Until you set them alight

'Cause we got plans
And they're gonna fly
'Cause I've come to fight
Baby tonight
It's do or die

I'm saying it from the heart tonight
I'm saying it from the heart
You're the bricks and mortar
That embodied me from the start

So don't forget all your hopes
To regret what is right
Bridges are burning
So set me alight

'Cause we got plans
And they're gonna fly
'Cause I've come to fight
Baby tonight
It's do or die

No, it's not just not right
No, 'cause we got plans, yeah
And they're gonna fly
Yeah

We've got the plans
Woo

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Fort Hope's song Plans express a sense of frustration towards a relationship that has become toxic. The singer is contemplating the impact of the relationship on their heart, and how it has been bloodied by their partner from the start, like thorns on a crown. They are exhausted from thinking about their partner's lies and how their doubts are polluting their lives. Despite this, the singer can't help but continue to think about their partner, but realizes that there is no use in thinking when they are feeling out of touch.

The chorus of the song carries a message of hope and determination. The singer asserts that they have plans that are going to fly, and they've come too far to back down now. The bridge won't burn until someone sets it alight, indicating that the relationship still has a chance if both partners work together. However, the final verse takes a more confrontational approach, with the singer warning their partner not to forget their hopes and dreams or they'll regret what's right. The bridges are burning, so they need to decide whether to continue fighting for the relationship or let it go up in flames.

Overall, Plans is a song that captures the conflicting emotions of a troubled relationship. It acknowledges the pain and frustration, but also expresses a sense of determination to hold on to hope and fight for what's important.

RaquelMarriedMusic Same! They're so so so talented x_x

@DVM981

+RaquelMarriedMusic Enjoy them while they are underrated. Success changes bands and sometimes for the worse, now I wish 'Fort Hope' success but it's a 50/50 thing, for every band that finds success making the music they want to make there are others that have to change and 'sell out' to make it. So enjoy the band while they are at their most raw and most pure cause success may not take them in a direction you like.

@honeypoppyprincess

that's very true. I feel like they would be huge in America. Not too many people know about them
