Count Me Out
Foxy Shazam Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If this is what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out

(you can count me out)

She was only seventeen a few months shy maybe
Boy looks in her eye such a lover
A few weeks down the line they're tying the knot
But then a few weeks after that it's over

If she's spending her life without him, she's calling it quits

If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out
If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out

(you can count me out yeah)

Boy come home from school to find his momma crying
He looks inside her eyes so blue (her eyes so blue)
They sit down side by side she tells him the truth
She say last night I caught your daddy having a (ugh ugh ah!)

She's trying to wrap her mind around it
She can't figure it out (she can't figure it out)

If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out
If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out

(you can count me out)

Loneliness won't leave me alone
It's mid July and I'm still cold (you're so far away)
Thinking of my saddest memory yeah, just so I can cry
(tell me more tell me more)

All I need is you, yeah
All I need is you, yeah
All I need is you, yeah
All I need is you

If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out
If this what love is all about
You can count me out, baby count me out
Just count me out

(you can count me out)

Overall Meaning

The song "Count Me Out" by Foxy Shazam explores the theme of love and its numerous downsides. The first verse tells the story of a young couple who rushes into marriage only to find it end abruptly a few weeks later. This indicates the fleeting nature of love and how it can be over before anyone realizes. The chorus, "If this is what love is all about, you can count me out," indicates that the singer has had enough of love's ups and downs and is no longer interested in pursuing it.

The second verse tells the story of a son who finds out his father has cheated on his mother. This highlights the impact that love's downfall can have on family relationships and how it can leave a lasting impression on one's life. The final verse expresses the singer's loneliness and desire for someone they love to be with them. This shows the contradictions of love, where it can be both comforting and hurtful.

ShotgunBadger95

Went to see them a couple weeks ago at the Rialto. Eric took my friends cigarettes and did his cigarette eating trick. Pure awesomeness.

I see a lot of people who have seen these guys in concert make comments which is great!! I am curious to know if anybody enjoyed The Darkness as well? I remember seeing that they were on tour together. Personally I think Foxy should be headlining their own tour but if I could see both in 1 show that would be epic. I personally think between these two bands, Rock music might actually have a chance in this new awful world of music.
