fuck you

Upon hearing chopin again and again, I can't help to fanthom the chances that I, one of the billions of people on this earth, would be able to hear these works over and over again. Nothing is better than this.

I would say Beethoven Bach and Schubert are all a bit better. i mo.

This is one of the best piano pieces ever. "Chopin Nocturne Op.27 No.1 in C sharp Minor" is the embodiment of Romanticism, starting with dark tones with a mood to match at the start, before ending on a more upbeat/optimistic tone. Makes me think about starting to play the piano again ;-)

If you haven’t already, do it! It’s so worth it. You build a more intimate connection to the music

Agree to disagree. I would say arguably. Don’t forget about the Berecuse in D flat major, Waltz op 34 no 2 and etude op 10 no 9....... something to consider.

0:23 one of the best moments in the history of recerded music. How it's possible to play it like that , this change of harmony, with such a clarity and calm, it's perfectly articulated. Rubinstein made any other recording of Nocturnes irrelevant to me. I honestly can't enjoy any other version even if I want. I don't know if it's only Rubinstein, or the piano, or the recording technique.

This is so profound.So beautiful.

I came to this page from IMDB's page on the film The Pianist. This tune was the actual piece played by Szpilman to the German general in real life, though the film showed the Szpilman character playing Chopin's Ballade No.1 in G Minor, (Op. 23, No. 1) instead, for some reason. I think this piece was much more dramatic.

@Chuck Lane Szpilman actually played the other C# minor Nocturne (No. 20 Op. posth.). The same one played at the beginning of the film. Regardless of who played what to who, the film is really great and the story it's based on is quite something.
