To see this exemple of the style of early Chopin, it is incredible to note very significant characteristics of the classical period on it and especially how beethovenian this piece sounds on the whole, which was perhaps due to the fact that since this is a very early Chopin, he could still be uncertain on what style he would follow, or maybe it is because of the very traditional music genre that is synonymous with the classical period. Either way, this serves as a great testament to how Chopin was influenced by Beethoven, Mozart and many other of their contemporaries

Wish he did more chamber music... this is lovely

angulan

I love how you hear the different instruments in different ears, it makes this piece seem like you listen to it in real life

Corey Lapinas

What the hell are you talking about?

Ruslans

@Corey LapinasIf you wear headphones, you can hear the violin in the left ear and the cello in the right, it makes the sense of perspective.

I was searching for this and it is one of the well played recordings. Thanks.

The third movement is just beautiful.

PieInTheSky

The first movement is quite Mendelssohn-like. The opening reminds me a bit of the opening of Mendelssohn's first concerto.

idc what people say, this is masterful

Norbert Florian Schuck

The first movement of the Trio is built in a similar way as its equivalents in Chopin's First Piano Sonata and First Piano Concerto: In all three pieces the exposition stays in the tonic and fails to build up tonal tension. This tension only is established in the recapitulation. It seems that Chopin had the idea to turn classical sonata procedures upside down. Donald Tovey called this "a suicidal plan". Chopin made a good decision when he gave up this manner in his later sonatas.
