Chopin was probably the greatest piano composer ever. His music was definitely written with passion and had so much expression. Such incredible music.

In my humble opinion, 12-TET is lame.

@Robert Smith yes, Alkan is very underrated.

Robert Smith

Liszt is awesome, like many others I’m a huge fan of Chopin, but I feel like Alkan never gets recognized enough. Les quatre âges is fantastic, 20 and 30 ans are probably the best, Mad Woman on the Seashore is so different from anything from the romantic era, the virtuosity in Le festin d'Ésope or Op 76 can hang with anything Liszt has ever done

In my humble opinion, 12-TET is lame.

@Kasaki Nayo Haha.

If you can't note Liszt's genius on harmony, then you aren't serious.
Liszt's harmony is as emotional as Chopin's melody, at least that's how I view it.

@In my humble opinion, 12-TET is lame. yeh agree. When we come with piano and technique, then we say Liszt. When we talk about music, melody on piano, then Chopin is there

In my humble opinion, 12-TET is lame.

@Kasaki Nayo Chopin understand melodies. When you talk about pianist you talk about Liszt, Godowsky, Busoni,...

"Chopin is the greatest of them all, for with the piano alone he discovered everything."

Have a nice day!❤

It is so refreshing to hear Chopin played without being over-pedaled. I don't think it can get any clearer than this. Rubinstein plays with such a elegant simplicity it's ridiculous!
