Quattro cani

The lyrics of Francesco De Gregori's song "Quattro cani" describe four different dogs on the street, each with their own unique characteristics and personalities. The first dog is a war dog, but he doesn't have bones or violence in his mouth. He lives on the walls and never speaks. The second is a mutt who knows hunger and the calmness of the streets, and every time he dies, he is reborn. The third is a female dog who often denies herself and only occasionally gives birth to her offspring in the world, because they are children of the world. Finally, the fourth dog has an owner but doesn't know where to go, always following his brothers and trusting them, occasionally stopping to smell and experience life. The song paints a picture of the lonely and often challenging life of street dogs.
