"Quo-lite", perhaps, but Francis Rossi is a truly great songwriter and his talents go far beyond the Quo sound. Expect highly melodic adult rock, laced with infectious boogie rock back-beats and some ballads.
Not easy to put into a box - Francis doesn't really sound like anyone else, except on his songs that are a bit Quo-ish!

Maybe Tomorrow
Francis Rossi Lyrics

Want somebody
Daddy’s so funny
He don’t worry
Mama’s saying don’t be playing the fool
Maybe tomorrow we can find where we belong
But the Winter wind is blowing
So we’ll drive and drive while the sun is up and listen to the radio
Johnny and me gotta get out of this town
Lying awake in a motel room and the night just seems so long
Soon as the sun comes up and we’ll be gone
Early morning, road is calling, we’re both singing, hey good looking
Gotta feeling, we’ll be breaking the rules
Maybe tomorrow they’ll be rainy days I’m sure
But I know that we’ll be happy baby everywhere we go
So we’ll drive and drive while the sun is up and listen to the radio
Johnny and me gotta get out of this town
Lying awake in a motel room and the night just seems so long
Soon as the sun comes up and we’ll be gone
Maybe tomorrow they’ll be rainy days I’m sure
But I know that we’ll be happy baby everywhere we go
So we’ll drive and drive while the sun is up and listen to the radio
Johnny and me gotta get out of this town
Lying awake in a motel room and the night just seems so long
Soon as the sun comes up and we’ll be gone
Soon as the sun comes up and we’ll be gone
The song "Maybe Tomorrow" by Francis Rossi depicts a desire for something more, a need to leave behind the ordinary and find one's place in the world. The lyrics suggest a sense of restlessness, as the singer looks for a way out of his current situation. The desire is fueled by the excitement and optimism for the future, while recognizing the uncertainties of what awaits them.
The song opens with a depiction of a young person wanting and needing someone to share this journey with, but acknowledging the love, concern and fears of their parents. Despite these concerns, the singer's passion to discover their place in life is undeterred. The lyrics talk about getting out of town, travelling, and immersing themselves in the freedom of the open road. The journey is depicted as a collaborative effort between friends, both singing and enjoying their escape, even at the cost of breaking the rules.
The chorus of the song highlights the idea that the journey ahead may not always be easy, with a hint of melancholy in acknowledging the rainy days that are sure to come. However, the song continues to express a sense of hope, suggesting that the singer and their companion will find happiness at the end of their journey, wherever it may take them.

Their two voices compliment each other really well ! Somewhat biased as I've always been a huge Rossi fan .. It's classic Rossi country based good time song which chugs along with a nice melody. What is not to like about it ! I listen to it when cycling and it's just great ... Keep the tracks comin !!
