Sorry, I forgot to mention that I sure as hell agree with mcm! It is absolutely beyond words especially 2.45 to 3.22, the moment had awaited the most in the soundtrack, i felt as though i was left down a bit - in comparison to you! The original soundtrack recording performed by (excuse me for not knowing the musician's name) is nowhere near as good as yours. You have truly brought an emotional feel to this song. thanks, man! The Nier pieces have a great balance between technique/complexity and final outcome. I think they aren't as demanding as other PCs (looking at Hamauzu and Hamaguchi I guess) but achieve beautiful results!

Watched a lot of videos of yours these couple of weeks from your earliest to the latest. To be very honest, the beginning couple of years’ stuff I wasn’t too impressed. But I can totally see the crazy progress over the years. Things went from so-so to incredibly impressive in such a short time. I hate to admit that though I’m good technically, I don’t think I can catch up with you on your beautiful interpretations. This piece is technically from a while back, but already I thought I was listening to OST! You got some true talent. I am confident about my playing, but there has been very little incremental improvement over the years.

BTW, finished releasing XIII. You’re the authority on this one since you were the first to release the whole album. Would be an honor if you could check out mine (in playlist). My Fang’s Theme turned out to be a hit on Reddit. XV starts Monday.

I appreciate the honesty a lot, and I couldn't agree more that my early videos are not "impressive" material, as they were recorded maybe 1-2 years after I started learning piano. but still, I think it's nice to have them be a part of my YT channel, as you can follow my story through my very early years to today :)
and man, in your case, with the level that you're at, having played all sorts of the most complex music for piano (Gaspard de la Nuit!?!!), I'd expect that at some point the development curve flattens a bit, hehe. but I think you can always keep surprising yourself in your self development as long as you keep pushing yourself!

One question, is this played phrase for phrase directly like the sheet music in the book or did you add your own flourish?

I'm considering buying the entire book because I can't find any freaking sheets anywhere, but I'm not sure which version is in the book or not, I've heard many and only want this.

If this specific version isn't available by sheets I'll have to resort to doing it by ear despite how much of a hastle it is for me.

I just really love this.

+Eufon ious hi! sorry for the late reply. I guess you basically have two options: (1) my fingering, that you'll probably know if it works the moment you sit in front of the piano, as you have to stretch the left hand a bit without making it feel tense. you're either ready to use this fingering or not (meaning that I think being comfortable with this fingering won't develop in a short time if your hand isn't prepared). If you're not ready, I'd then recommend (2) use a different fingering with a less stretched hand, with more movement along the piano. For this case, you'd have to start way slower than (1) in my view, to master the jumps and work on clean transitions. hope these two options are clear and help!

I'd actually love to play dependent weakling, but don't have the time to transcribe it at the moment :( I found some transcribed sheets on the web, but they weren't that accurate, and were missing so many elements that I might as well start from scratch, which I can't do right now as I have other projects going on. I hope you at least give a try to my piano improvisations I've been uploading this year. I'd love to hear what you think about them :)

i working on this now and this is so hard to get so clean and precise like you. i am struggling so hard with the 2nd rhythmic part. I dont think i am gonna play it as fast as you just a little bit less speed. But yea i played the game and i listen to the soundtrack then i found the piano collections and i LOVE THEM ALL couple not as much but still like. So i had to get the PC book!

any advice for the first part and the 2nd part to get better at?

yeah! I've played several pieces from those piano collections, they're great! I just made a playlist with the KH I've uploaded so far. I actually recently recorded the Concert Paraphrase and Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion and will be uploading them in the next days!

why in this part 1:15 if you are using pedal why keep finger pressed?
wouldnt you get more fexibility for playing the ther notes if your already letting it sound thanks yo the pedal?

Hey! So, I like to keep certain keys pressed because of mainly 3 reasons:
-The most practical: if you're holding a key and the pedal as well, especially in fast passages, you may need to lift and press the pedal back again, which may mean you'll loose the hold for the key you decided to lift your finger. This acts as a safe lock to keep the melody safe.
-Kind of for that same reason, when you start relying too much on the pedal to hold notes and you start overusing it, songs start to sound muddier and leading melodies can be lost in pother details.
-As a technical challenge: you never know in future pieces if you might need to hold notes without the help of a pedal, so might as well practice whenever you can, as long as it doesn't hurt the piece you're currently playing of course.

@Franco Albertini Yeah Nier Automata is pure epicness. You might be able to do something with it by ears though given your technical skills.

By the way, for piano VST you might want to check out Garritan Yamaha CFX or VSL Synchron Steinway D-274. Both are seriously world-class, and the VSL one is not cheap.
