Françoise Hardy signed her first contract with the record label Vogue in November 1961. In April 1962, shortly after finishing school, her first record Oh Oh Chéri appeared, written by Johnny Hallyday's writing duo. Her own flip side of the record, "Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles" became a success, riding the wave of Yé-yé music in France, with two million sales.
Hardy sang in French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German. In 1963 she came fifth for Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest with "L'amour s'en va". In 1963, she was awarded the Grand Prix Du Disque of the Charles Cros Academy.
In 1981, she married her long-time companion Jacques Dutronc, with whom she had had a son, Thomas Dutronc, in 1973. In 1994, she collaborated with the British pop group Blur for their "La Comedie" version of To The End. In May 2000, she made a comeback with the album Clair Obscur. Her son played guitar and her husband sang the duet "Puisque Vous Partez En Voyage." Iggy Pop and Étienne Daho also took part. Hardy lives near Paris and Dutronc lives in Monticello, Corsica, although they remain a couple.[citation needed]

I've never been kissed before
Only you can do it
You make me feel like
I wanna be kissed for ever more
Only you can do it
I don't know why I feel this way
You hold me in your arms
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do
What you're doing to me
I walk around town
With my head held up so high
Only you can do it
My feet are on the ground
But I feel like I'm touching the sky
Only you can do it
I don't know why I feel this way
I only know I like the way
You hold me in your arms
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do
What you're doing to me
I don't know why I feel this way
I only know I like the way
You hold me in your arms
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do
What you're doing to me
Only you can do it
Only you can do it
Only you can do
What you're doing to me
"Only You Can Do It" by Françoise Hardy is a love song that focuses on the intense feelings of love and adoration that the singer has for her partner. In the first verse, she describes how her partner kisses her in a way that makes her feel like she hasn't been kissed before. The chorus emphasizes that her partner is the only one who can make her feel this way and that she wants to be kissed forevermore.
The second verse describes how the singer feels both grounded and elevated when she's with her partner. She walks around town with her head held high, feeling like she's touching the sky. The repetition of the chorus again emphasizes that her partner is the only one who can make her feel this way.
Overall, the lyrics convey a strong sense of attachment and dependence on the singer's partner. She describes feeling unable to explain why she feels the way she does but knows that her partner is the only one who can make her feel this way. The song captures the intensity of early love and the powerful connection that can form between two people.
