Frank Ifield Lyrics

Come lay your cool hand on my brow
And promise me that you will never be
Nobody's darlin' but mine.
Nobody's darlin' but mine
Love be honest, be faithful, be kind
Promise me that you will never be
You're as sweet as the flowers of springtime
You're as pure as the dew from the rose
I had rather be somebody's darlin'
Than a poor boy that nobody knows.
Nobody's darlin' but mine
Love be honest, be faithful, be kind
Promise me that you will never be
Nobody's darlin' but mine.

Is this guy the most
beautiful and respected entertainer,
or even PERSON, to have ever been produced by Australian parents? Or what!
(Although he was actually birthed in
England). On top of possessing one of
the greatest voices
God ever gifted to a
human being, I've never witnessed a face that exudes more warmth, good nature, and dignity.
May this sterling gentleman from "down under" have a
happy forthcoming
80th birthday and be
blessed with a continued long and
healthy life. (Jan . 2017).

But he is not yodeling in this song! He is merely switching to
his falsetto voice to hit the high notes with greater ease;
yodeling is characterized by the rapid alternation between one's normal voice and falsetto voice, after the fashion of Swiss livestock herders in the alps. I love Frank
Ifield, less his actual
true yodeling songs,
which are not that
plentiful. Yodeling to me sounds monotonous; corny;
hillbillyish, and quirky. But if you wish to hear some
actual yodeling in
addition to Ifield's;
download what you can find of it by Wanda Jackson and
Elton Britt, SUPERB
yodelers.

One of my favourite songs by Frank. I saw him performing live in the sixties. The only entertainer I ever bothered to go and see. Thanks for uploading this to YT.
