If I Loved You
Frank Sinatra Lyrics

If I loved you, time and again I would try to say
All I'd want you to know
If I loved you, words wouldn't come in an easy way
`Round in circles I'd go
Longin' to tell you but, afraid and shy,
I'd let my golden chances pass me by

Soon you'd leave me, off you would go in the mist of day
Never, never to know
How I love you, if I loved you

Soon you'd leave me, off you would go in the mist of day
Never, never to know
How I love you, if I loved you

I adore Frank Sinatra's voice. It also adds diversity to my playlists. And this one has a story with it.
I was in choir this past Friday (we sing songs from a choir book on Fridays) and my friend asked the director for a recommendation, and he chose this song. I knew he had a crush on a soprano, and when we sang this song, I saw them meet eyes. I personally thought it was adorable and a big step for the emotionally introverted guy. ^_^ personally, I felt happy, maybe even proud for him.

I love his voice. Hes always been my favorite. So soothing.

I love old blue eyes. Been a fan since I was a kid. On the town was the movie that got me into frank Sinatra music. RIP

Watching it tonight on his birthday 💙 I love Frank as well, and I love Elvis too

Yes, there were some singers who had a stronger voice than Sinatra, but none could match him  in the depth of feeling and phrasing that only Frank could put into a song. He was the best.

I don't suppose you've heard I'm a Fool to Want You from '51, much less read what Whitney Balliett wrote on the subject. Then there's Close to You from '56, Only The Lonely from '58, Sinatra & Strings from '61, The Concert Sinatra - '64, September of My Years, '65 and others before, in between and after right on up until My Way in '69, after which he took a few years off. His voice grew darker, deeper and more expressive, more a cello and less a violin. It's one thing to say you prefer the violin, quite another to suggest Sinatra's peak lasted a mere three years, from age 37 - 40.

Sinatra's voice was at its peak in 53-55! Listen to Rain (Falling From The Skies), recorded in Capitol in 1953!

You are so right Saylt!!! What beautiful time the world had with composers such as Roger&Hammerstain, Roger@Hart, Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, Kander&Ebb, Jerome Kern and others that made history of show business and enchanted the world!!! And what we today?? I will laugh if I say the names

Wow Frank Sinatra sang all of my favourite songs xD

Streisand did an amazing version of this on her #1 album, "The Broadway Album" in 1985.
