Lover
Frank Sinatra with George Siravo and his Orchestra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How gentle is the rain, that falls softly on the meadow;
Birds high upon the trees serenade the flow'rs with their melodies.
Oh, see there beyond the hill, the bright colors of the rainbow;
Some magic from above made this day for us, just to fall in love.

How gentle is the rain, that falls gently on the meadow;
Birds high upon the trees serenade the flow'rs with their melodies.
Oh, see there beyond the hill, the bright colors of the rainbow;
Some magic from above made this day for us, just to fall in love.

You'll hold me in your arms, and say once again you love me;
And if your love is true, ev'rything will be just as wonderful.

You'll hold me in your arms, and say once again you love me;

Impossível não amar The VOICE!

Peter Farrar

I am not a Sinatra fan. However, his swinging version of the Rodgers & Hart's classic romantic ballad "Lover"was fantastic. With great musical collaboration from superb Nelson Riddle's orchestra, raised this music into the stratosphere. Frank, with superb lyrics by Hart, your path to success was guaranteed. I must admit your performance was terrific. When you applied power to reach the high notes, you surprised me greatly. Listeners, listen carefully to the beautiful, sophisticated & sublime romantic lyrics of genious Lorenz Hart, & your heart will fly away to romantic paradise. This is the best performance from youthful Frank Sinatra during his peak years that I've listened to. This is the best recorded version & all oppositions obliterated into silence.

This was not Nelson Riddle’s arrangement. It would be another 3ish years before he would start working with Nelson
