Identify your last port of entry, space wanderer . . .

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Frank Zappa's song "Gee" are full of cryptic lines that can be interpreted in multiple ways. The opening line, "Identify your last port of entry, space wanderer," suggests that the song is about alien encounters. Zappa seems to be questioning the identity and intentions of the person he is addressing, wondering where they came from and what their purpose is.

The song then takes a surreal turn, with Zappa quoting the famous rock song "Wooly Bully" and referencing a "leather conversation." It's unclear what exactly these references mean, but they add to the bizarre and otherworldly atmosphere of the song. The guitar solo that follows is a masterclass in Zappa's virtuosic playing style, with his band providing a complex and ever-changing backdrop.

Overall, "Gee" is a strange and intriguing song that showcases Zappa's unique approach to music and his willingness to push the boundaries of what was considered acceptable in rock music.

That piano riff at 0:36 isn't part of the original doowop song, but It sounds exactly the same as the riff that plays during 'Who Needs the peace Corps?' after the guy says "Oh, my hair's getting good in the back." Does anybody else notice this?

I noticed it :) but it's a little different in the tonal scale, if i'm not wrong :)

Indi :D

The perfect mix of doo-wop and Frank Zappa.
