Interview Part 1
Frank Zappa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Okay, now Now we're gonna play something that
Contains within within it it's own devious
Little boogie but before you get to the
Boogie there's a bunch of weird
Stuff on either side of it and the
Name of this tune is "Little
Dots" And it features Dave Parlato on
Bass and Jim Gordon on drums
Grinding it out

Overall Meaning

The song "Interview Part 2" by Frank Zappa can be interpreted as a critique of the American justice system in the late 1960s. The lyrics describe a "Concentration moon" hovering over a camp in the valley, a reference to the horrific concentration camps of the Holocaust. The singer wishes to be back in the alley with his friends, running free with hair growing out of every hole in his body. This can be interpreted as a rejection of societal norms and the desire to break free from the meaningless constraints that society imposes on individuals.

The song goes on to critique the American way of life and society, which is threatened by those who reject the norms and rules that are imposed upon them. The lyrics describe the killing of thousands of "creeps" in the park, which can be interpreted as a reference to the police brutality and violence that was taking place during this time. The song also references the imprisonment and torture of those who reject societal norms and are labeled as "prisoners" and "creeps."

In conclusion, "Interview Part 2" is a satirical critique of American society and the justice system during the 1960s.

The Chauffeur (1982) Lyrics:
Out on the tar plains, the glides are moving
All looking for a new place to drive
You sit beside me so newly charming
Sweating dewdrops glisten freshing your side

And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress, all shadowy lined
And the droning engine throbs in time
With your beating heart

Way down the lane away, living for another day
The aphids swarm up in the drifting haze
Swim seagull in the sky towards that hollow western isle
My envied lady holds you fast in her gaze

And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress, all shadowy lined
And the droning engine throbs in time
With your beating heart

And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress, all shadowy lined
And the droning engine throbs in time
With your beating heart

Sing blue silver

And watching lovers part, I feel you smiling
What glass splinters lie so deep in your mind
To tear out from your eyes, with a thought to stiffen brooding lies
And I'll only watch you leave me further behind

And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress, all shadowy lined
And the droning engine throbs in time
With your beating heart

And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress, all shadowy lined
And the droning engine throbs in time
With your beating heart

Sing blue silver
Sing, sing, blue silver
