My Way
Frank Sinatra Jr. Lyrics

And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say - not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way
For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
Yes, it was my way
Frank Sinatra Jr.'s song My Way is a powerful ballad that speaks to the idea of living life on one's own terms. The song opens with the singer acknowledging that the end is near and that he is about to face the final curtain. He then proceeds to state his case and affirm that he has lived a full life that has taken him on many roads.
Sinatra Jr. also acknowledges that he has had regrets in his life, but he did what he had to do and saw it through without exemption. He carefully planned each step he took and faced his fears head-on. Towards the end of the song, he remarks on how he has loved, laughed, cried, and lost, and now he finds it all amusing. The record shows that he took the blows and did it his way.
The song's message is one of self-reliance and independence. The lyrics assert that a person's life is their own, and they should live it as they see fit. It resonates with people around the world and has become an anthem for those who want to live life on their own terms.

If not himself, then he has naught
If a person does not have themselves they have nothing
To say the things he truly feels
To express what one really feels
And not the words of one who kneels
And not something that someone else wants them to say
The record shows I took the blows
My life is a record of the struggles and hardships I faced
And did it my way
And I overcame those hardships by following my own path
Yes, it was my way
Everything I did in life was in accordance with my own principles and beliefs

I was fortunate enough to see both he and his father live on several occasions. I wish Frank Jr. would have made a name for himself singing. I feel he is as good as his dad.

i almost literally bumped into him at the Lexus dealership in Van Nuys. We were at the service check out counter and he and i were at the window; he to my left. i wouldn't have noticed him or who he was if not for his voice. i wasn't even looking his direction but when i heard him talk it was mind blowing. kid u not, he sounded exactly like his dad. that's what thru me off so hard, this dude sounded just like Frank Sr. just talking casual....RIP. i think he was very talented like his dad.

good rehearsal performance. He did not sing in an aggressive manner as his father, yet he was very good at phrasing the lyrics , and appreciating all those classics from THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK.
