By the time he was 12 (1952), Avalon began making appearances on U.S. television for his trumpet prowess, and as a teenager, played with Bobby Rydell in a band known as Rocco and the Saints. In 1959, his songs "Venus" and "Why?" both went to number one on Billboard magazine's Hot 100. Indeed, "Why" was the last #1 hit of the 1950s.

Heart out of cover
Let me help you discover
A perfect love
Look high, there's a
Bright and a blue sky
Don't you know that you
Darling
I can promise you always
That your future and always
Will be shiny and bright
Don't hide
Let the sunshine be inside
Let your hopes be at
High tide and far above
The lyrics to Frankie Avalon's song "Perfect Love" convey a message of love and encouragement to a partner who is perhaps guarded or hesitant. The opening lines urge the lover to let go of any reservations and allow the artist to help them find a perfect love. The repeated use of the word "perfect" throughout the lyrics reinforces the idea of an ideal love that is worth striving for.
The second verse encourages the partner to look beyond any negative or dark aspects of life and instead focus on the beauty of the sky above. The message seems to be that a perfect love is not something that can be bought or acquired externally, but rather it is something that one needs to cultivate internally. The chorus speaks to the artist's confidence in their ability to provide a bright and shiny future for their partner, and encourages the partner to let go of fear and embrace hope.

Good song! Although I do understand what rock & roll purists mean when they say that rock & roll sorta went soft in the early 60's. I think that helped open the door for the British Invasion. People wanted something different, and some music they could really ROCK to!

True though I think there was a mini backlash with the sunshine pop movement later in the 1960s with groups like, the 5th Dimension
