Lyric:
One more tomorrow
To hold you in my embrace
And thrill with rapture
Each time I look at your face
One more tomorrow
To see heaven in your eyes
To have your hand cling to mine
And wander through paradise
One more tomorrow
To kiss your lips constantly
And feel the pounding
As your heart beats next to me
One more tomorrow
Filled with love the whole day through
And then tomorrow I'd beg
For one more tomorrow with you

I met Frankie Carle in the early 1980's, right after he'd been through a health crisis. I'd gotten a bunch of co-workers to sign a huge Get-Well poster for him and I mailed it out to his home, and this was mentioned on the old KLBB-14 radio station (AM) in Minneapolis. Some time later, he stopped by with a friend (who was helping him get around) at the office, and he introduced himself. We wrote back and forth and spoke by phone (he in Arizona and I in Minneapolis) for years until his death in 2001. I spoke with his daughter after his passing, though I'm not sure that this was the 'Marjorie Hughes' listed on the record label. He was a great guy.

Interesting. Thanks so much for sharing.

I tried reaching out to her a couple times through the years, as far as I can find, she is still alive. Unfortunately, the majority of those still alive from this time are in homes or are otherwise unable to even speak much at all. Yet we hear and see the headlines one after one of people only caring enough to look into them once they've passed on. We are truly in the last possible generation right now for finding anyone still alive from these bands. And I'm trying to find anyone I can and learn as much as I can that hasn't been said, before it's too late.

Marjorie Hughes is indeed Frankie Carle's daughter. Unbeknownst to Frankie, he heard a demo of a song by her not realizing it was her. The rest is history.

This song was released in 1946 and amazingly, as of today, the singer Majorie Hughes (born 1925) is still living. Majorie, the daughter of the orchestra leader Frankie Carle, was at that time married to the orchestra's piano player "Hughey" Hughes.

Her father passed away at 97 in 2001. It’s no surprise! My grandaunts lived to be 105 and 102. Italian women have a way of sticking around.
@presleywilson4492
She would have only been 21 then at the time of this recording
