The Teenagers' first single, 1956's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love", was also their biggest. After Lymon went solo in mid-1957, both his career and those of the Teenagers fell into decline. Lymon eventually fell into heroin addiction, and died in 1968 at the age of twenty-five.
What a Little Moonlight Can Do
Frankie Lymon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What a little moonlight can do
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do to you
You're in love
Your heart's fluttering all day long
You only stutter cause your poor tongue
Just will not utter the words
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do
Wait a while
Till a little moonbeam comes peepin' through
He'll get bored
You can't resist him
All you'll say
When you have kissed him is
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do
Ooh, ooh, ooh
These lyrics are describing the effects of the moonlight on a person who is in love. The moonlight is portrayed as having an enchanting influence on the emotions and behavior of the person who is in love. The opening lines of the song, "Ooh, ooh, ooh, what a little moonlight can do," emphasize the transformative power of the moonlight. The following lines suggest that the moonlight can make a person fall in love, causing their heart to "flutter all day long." However, the person's tongue will not cooperate, making it difficult for them to confess their feelings to the object of their affection.
The second verse suggests that waiting for a little moonbeam to "come peeping through" can help intensify the feeling of love. However, it also warns that the person may become bored and unable to resist the allure of the moonlight. The final lines of the lyrics, "All you'll say when you have kissed him is Ooh, ooh, ooh, What a little moonlight can do," suggest that the power of the moonlight can even make a person forget the object of their affection and succumb to its influence.
Overall, these lyrics provide a romantic and magical interpretation of the effects of moonlight on a person's feelings and behavior when in love.

-Damn! OMG!!! It's too bad we can't go back in time, give them the recognition & fortunes they deserved, & truly punish the rotten managers they had. Frankie's voice was still good even after puberty changed it. Their talents & money, especially little Frankie's were squandered & lost. & The poor kids went back to the streets, drugs, & Frankie got into several women & drugs, and the tragic end. Frankie, rip.
