Teenage Love
Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers Lyrics

As I was going to school one day
I met a cute girl who passed my way
She looked like a goodness more like a queen
She stole the hearts of every teen

I said, look here, baby, and what's with you?
She said, cool down, boy, I'm late for school
The time went by so very slow
I wanted to see that girly so
We had a Coke, and furthermore
I carried her books up to the door

She said, I'll see you later, then my heart skipped a beat
Chills ran from my spine to my feet
I kissed her under the moon up above
And that was the start of a teenage love

As I was going to school one day
I met a cute girl who passed my way
She looked like a goodness more like a queen
She stole the hearts of every teen

I said, look here, baby, and what's with you?
She said, cool down, boy, I'm late for school

The time went by so very slow
I wanted to see that girly so
We had a Coke, and furthermore
I carried her books up to the door

She said, I'll see you later, then my heart skipped a beat
Chills ran from my spine to my feet

I kissed her under the moon up above
And that was the start of a teenage love

These young fellows had vocal and harmonising skills of singers far beyond their years. Some years ago I heard a rocking live version of "Why do Fools Fall in Love" complete with brass instruments which I thought was the best version that I've ever heard but I've never been able to find it again. Frankie really was a special talent and I've never seen anyone on "The X Factor" come close to him.

Wow compared to most records of the time, the budget for this recording equipment must have been astronomical! That hifi tremolo phono stereo sax smooth color double threaded slacks.. They would have put this sound in technicolor with a hot cup of joe waiting on the side for this album if it was possible - again, W.O.W

Alex Batey

My favorite Frankie song.
