Valli scored over twenty-five Top-40 hits with The Four Seasons, a handful of Top-40 hits dubbed as a solo act in the late 1960s, one dubbed as The Wonder Who? in 1965, and again as a solo act in the mid to late 1970s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with The Four Seasons in 1990.
Valli started his singing career in 1952. He cut his first single in 1953 as "Frankie Valley" –-a name he adopted from Jean Valley, his favorite female singer. In the mid-1950s he split up with The Travellers and joined The Variety Trio, which consisted of Tommy DeVito, twin brother Nick, and Hank Majewski. They redubbed themselves The Variatones, and later as The Four Lovers. Under this moniker, they scored a Top 40 hit with "You're the Apple of My Eye" in 1956. After a few more name changes, the group finally settled on The Four Seasons in 1960. About the same time, Valli Italianized his name to its current form. Nick DeVito and Majewski left the group in 1960 or 1961. Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi replaced them.
With Valli as its lead singer, The Four Seasons had a series of hits, including five number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Their first chart-topper was "Sherry" in 1962. They scored their final number one single in the U.S. in 1975 with "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)." The song enjoyed a second run on the U.S. charts in 1994 (credited as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons) when a remixed version hit #14 on the Hot 100.
This Guy's In Love With You
Frankie Valli Lyrics

Yes, I'm in love, who looks at you the way I do
When you smile I can tell we know each other very well
How can I show you I'm glad, I've got to know you 'cause
I've heard some talk, they say you think I'm fine
This guy's in love and what I'd do to make you mine
Tell me now, is it so? Don't let me be the last to know
My hands are shakin', don't let my heart keep breaking 'cause
I need your love, I want your love
Say, you're in love, in love with this guy, if not I'll just die
Tell me now, is it so? Don't let me be the last to know
My hands are shakin', don't let my heart keep breaking 'cause
I need your love, I want your love
Say, you're in love, in love with this guy, if not I'll just die
In Frankie Valli's classic love song "This Guy's In Love With You," the singer conveys an intense emotional connection with the object of his affection. The lyrics communicate a deep sense of longing and urgency, as the singer of the song pleads for the chance to make the woman he loves his own. The opening lines of the song, "You see this guy, this guy's in love with you / Yes, I'm in love, who looks at you the way I do," immediately set the tone for the singer's passionate declaration.
As the song progresses, Valli emphasizes the strength of his feelings by talking about how well he knows the woman he loves. When she smiles, he can tell that they have a special connection that other people might not understand. Yet despite his profound affection for her, he worries that she might not feel the same way. The lines "Tell me now, is it so? Don't let me be the last to know / My hands are shakin', don't let my heart keep breaking 'cause" underscore his desperate need for reassurance.
Overall, "This Guy's In Love With You" is a beautiful example of a classic love song that encapsulates the thrill and uncertainty of romantic love.
