Already in his youth, Frans Bauer wanted to become a singer after he was inspired by Julio Iglesias, Elvis Presley and Koos Alberts (a Dutch singer). Bauer's own singing career started in 1987 when he recorded his first single, "Ben Je Jong" (Are You Young), under supervision of Dutch producers Rudi Schreijenberg and Emile Hartkamp.
In January 1992 he met his later wife-to-be, Mariska van Rossenberg. He was a local celebrity before rising to national fame due to the national television show "All You Need Is love" in early 1992, where he was to choose two female fans for a date. In 1994 he had his first national hit with "Als Sterren Aan De Hemel Staan". In 1997 he conquered Germany with his album "Weil Ich Dich Liebe".
Frans Bauer's fame kept growing to the point where he had his own reality show called "De Bauers", in which his daily life, including his family life, was followed. Bauer has also designed clothing for the Vroom & Dreesmann retail chain, based in The Netherlands.
He has won several awards and honours in The Netherlands, including a knighthood ("Ridder in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau") due to his charitable work and the "Gouden Televizier-Ring" for the reality show that has been running on Dutch television the year previously.
In 2006 he was struck by an infection on his vocal cords. He recovered after surgery.
Buenos Dias Weisse Taube
Frans Bauer Lyrics

in einem fremden Land
Die Sonne brennt erbarmungslos
und heiss
eine weisse Taube hielt er in seiner
Hand
streichelt sie und sagt zu ihr
ganz leis.
Buenos Dias weisse Taube
flieg hinauf ins Himmelzelt
bring die Hoffnung und den Frieden
allen Menschen dieser Welt
Buenos Dias weisse Taube
sag was du von Freiheit meinst
und ein ganzes Meer von Tränen
war doch nicht umsonst geweint.
Die Taube flog davon
wohin - wer weiss das schon
der Alte schaut voll sehnsucht
hinterher
es war die siebte Taube
die in den Himmel flog
all die andren sah er niemals mehr.
The lyrics of Frans Bauer's song "Buenos dias weisse Taube" (Good morning white dove) tells the story of an old man living in a foreign land under the scorching sun, holding a white dove in his hand. As he caresses the bird, he whispers a message to it, asking it to fly up to the sky and bring hope and peace to all the people in the world. The chorus repeats the traditional Spanish greeting "Buenos dias" (Good morning) as a way for the old man to express his desire for a better future for all. The old man watches the dove fly away, wondering where it will go, but he holds hope that it will help spread a message of freedom and bring an end to the tears shed in the past.
The song is a beautiful message of peace and hope, calling for people to come together and strive for a better world. The white dove in the song is often used as a symbol of peace and is a well-known representation for ending wars and conflicts. The old man is also portrayed as someone who has experienced a lot of pain and suffering in his life, likely as a result of war and violence, and through the dove's flight, he hopes to see an end to these troubles.
Overall, "Buenos dias weisse Taube," with its gentle melody and heartfelt lyrics, speaks to the human desire for a better world, one where peace and love prevail over hatred and violence. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a better future.

There was an old man
An elderly man existed
In a foreign land
He was in a place he did not call home
The sun burns mercilessly
The sun is scorching hot
And hot
And there's no escaping the heat
He held a white dove
He had a white bird in his hands
Stroking it gently and whispering
The man pets the bird lightly and speaks quietly to it
Good morning, white dove
The man greets the bird
Fly up to the sky
Fly up high in the sky
Bringing hope and peace
Carrying with you hope and peace
To all the people in the world
To every single person in the world
Good morning, white dove
The man repeats his welcome to the bird
Tell them what you think about freedom
Share your opinion about freedom with those you meet
And a whole sea of tears
All the tears shed
Was not cried in vain
Had a purpose and meaning behind it
The dove flew away
The bird took flight and left
Where it went, no one knows
Its destination is unknown
The old man looked longingly
The old man watched with longing eyes
After it
As it disappeared into the distance
It was the seventh dove
It was the seventh bird he sent off
That flew up to the sky
That took off into the sky and never returned
