dead wrong
Frausdots Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lived in the city on a street on a street with no name
It felt good to be out in the rain
In the city I can't remember my name
In this city I can't remember my name

Do you pretend to be asleep?
When she's awake
Do you remember how we laughed?
Do you remember anything?

Now everybody doing everybody wrong
And everybody singing everybody elses song
And everybody thinks that there in love

They're dead wrong
They're dead wrong
When I was young I caught a glimpse

A shadow in the dark
Started a war with a kiss
Stared a forest fire with a spark

Now everybody's ding everybody wrong
And everybody singing everybody else's song
And everybody thinks that there in love
But they're dead wrong

They're dead wrong
They're dead wrong
They're dead wrong
They're dead wrong
They're dead wrong

They're dead wrong on
They're dead wrong on
Dead dead wrong on
Dead dead wrong on

There dead wrong aong
There dead wrong ong
They're dead wrong

Ba ba ba da da da badada da
Ba ha ba la la
Do do do doot doot

Do do doolot do do do
Doot do do do

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Frausdots' song "Dead Wrong" convey a sense of disillusionment with life in the city and the idea of love. The first verse describes the singer's detachment from their surroundings and inability to remember their own identity. This feeling is juxtaposed with the freeing sensation of being caught in the rain, suggesting a yearning for something more authentic and primal. The second verse evokes a sense of lost love with questions about pretending to be asleep and memories of shared laughter. However, the chorus paints a bleaker picture of love, proclaiming that everyone is doing each other wrong and singing each other's songs. The repetition of the phrase "they're dead wrong" drives home the idea that society's version of love is flawed and false.

The bridge of the song shifts the tone to a more introspective and intense mood. The singer recalls catching a glimpse of something intriguing in their youth and starting a war with a kiss, suggesting a passionate but destructive relationship. The forest fire imagery adds to this sense of danger and chaos. This moment contrasts with the city's mundane and unfulfilling existence but ultimately led to feelings of loss and regret. The final chorus reiterates the idea that everyone is wrong about love, hammering home the main theme of the song and its feelings of disillusionment.

The Game

Golden song! And because of its timeless nature, it can always surface and become a world anthem.

Especially the chorus lines 'Everybody's singing everybody else's song. And everybody thinks that they're in love. They're dead wrong."

It is. We imagine, we project the feeling of being in love because we are in love with the thought and feeling of being in love. It's hard to realise that we project our love on those we love, but if you see how easy it is to take love away from someone who did us wrong, we can see that it is really a self-induced emotion.

only true indie rock listeners can catch this fantastic album.. It's very sad to see that they are one of the most underrated bands in 00's! music industry is full of such cheapness that people can't be aware of good music.. it's a shame! A music fan from Turkey.
