The band has been tipped by 2FM’s Dan Hegarty as an act to watch in 2011.
The band are currently promoting their new single, Caramel Back, the perfect antidote to the winter blues, which can be heard on 2FM, Today FM and Phantom FM. Caramel Back is available as an MP3 download from iTunes and Amazon or as a limited edition CD from selected record stores. Plans are also taking shape for the recording of their debut album later this year.
Fred and Bob announced themselves in 2009, with the release of their demo Hex You, which received widespread airplay. The demo was featured on BBC Introducing on BBC 6 Music as well as 2FM, Phantom FM and Today FM. Fred and Bob ended a jam-packed 2009 with a live session in RTE Studio 8 for the Dan Hegarty show on 2FM.
In May 2010 the band released their debut EP On a Good Day, which was recorded by Ian McNulty (who has recently worked with Ambience Affair & John, Shelly and the Creatures). Lead track Gluey Fingers got regular airplay from Dan Hegarty of 2FM and has also featured on the Dave Fanning show, Rory McConnell's BBC Radio 1 show and RTÉ’s MNS. Fred and Bob have also recently drawn attention internationally, with tracks being featured on radio in the US and Holland.
Some people say the nicest things:
Dan Hegarty (2FM):
“Dublin's Fred & Bob are not a duo just in case you're wondering. They do however have a habit of writing the kind of songs that The Breeders, Sleater Kinney and Veruca Salt would have given their eye teeth for during the 90s! It's not all retrospective though, these guys and girls have an energy that is so infectious.”
Jim Carroll – The Ticket (Irish Times):
"making fuzzy, punky, energetic pop with loads of likeable throwback '90s indie edges. New EP 'On a good day...' will make you twist and shout!"
HotPress Magazine:
"Imagine a slightly roughed-up Jades mashed with a nastier Blondie and you're getting close. In Emma Greenhalgh they have a fearsome vocalist..."

My brother Jeff played Billy Bob for Birthdays alot. I did a few times too. We got to do it at the Showbiz in Charlotte,North Carolina in the mid 1980s for a couple years. Lots of fun!
