Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
cnd I grew strong
cnd I learned how to get along
cnd so you're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
cnd I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive, hey, hey
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
cnd I spent oh-so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
But now I hold my head up high and you see me
Somebody new
I'm not that chained-up little person and still in love with you
cnd so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
Well, now I'm saving all my lovin' for someone who's loving me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
cnd I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive
Oh
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
cnd I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive
I will survive
The lyrics of Freddie & The Dreamers' song "I Will" depict a narrative of empowerment and resilience in the face of heartbreak and betrayal. The singer initially expresses fear and devastation over the loss of their significant other, believing they could never live without them. However, as time passes and they reflect on the pain they endured, they grow stronger and learn to move on. When their ex-lover unexpectedly returns, they realize the need to assert their independence and stand up for themselves. The singer acknowledges their mistake of not changing the locks to prevent their return. They dismiss the ex-lover's presence and confidently declare that they will not be affected by their attempts to hurt them once again. The lyrics convey a message of self-empowerment, demonstrating the singer's determination to survive and thrive without their previous partner.

That voice and the music that goes with it is amazing. Freddie and the Dreamers have a wonderful collection of albums and songs. I'm happy to see other people like and love them the way I do.

Hi Brian, the first time I listen to the song and I was surprised by the volume and the full sound. Anything about the song reminds me of Roy Orbison? I like it and I always like your videos anyway! Thanks my friend, have an enjoyable evening and a very good start into the new week ... Ebi

Whenever I hear Freddie's voice, it takes me back to Childhood in the early 60's. It was such a nice time to be alive. There was no better time to experience the Beatles etc, than the time they were here, making NEW Records. Freddie and the Dreamers are one of the strongest memories I have from the music of Childhood. Thanks Brian, Gary.
