You Were Made For Me
Freddie And The Dreamers Lyrics

Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.
All the trees were made for little things that sing and fly.
And the sun was made to burn so bright and light the sky-ee-y-ee-y
Pretty eyes were never made to cry, they were made to see.
You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.
All the flowers in the field were made to please the bees.
For the fishes swim to make the rivers run to the sea-ee-ee-ee-eas.
Every hand was made to to hold another, tenderly.
When I kissed you on your lips I knew that you were made for me.
You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.
Da da daaa da da da da da daaa da daaa da daaaa
Da da daaa da da da da da daaa da daa de-da-de-da-de-da
You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.
Every hand was made to hold another, tenderly.
When I kissed you on your lips I knew that
You were made,
You were made,
You were made for me
The lyrics of Freddie And The Dreamers’s song You Were Made For Me depict a romantic and idealistic view of love. The singer says that everything in nature has its own purpose and reason for being, just like how the person they are addressing was made for them. They express their belief that this person was created specifically for them, and everyone who knows them agrees. They ask the person to confirm that they do not already know this to be true.
The lyrics continue to assert that the natural world is designed to complement and interact with itself. Trees were made for birds, the sun was made to light up the sky, eyes were made to see (not cry). The flowers in the field were made to please the bees that help them multiply, and the fishes swim to make the rivers run to the sea. The singer then remarks that every hand was made to hold another tenderly, and they knew that the person was made for them when they kissed them on their lips.

Sorry to below comments, but I definitely liked him, and especially liked "The Freddy" (a fun memory of the times).

Looked (a little) like Buddy Holly, but sounded nothing like him. Probably would rank as the British Invasion band which least turned me on.

My bet is that if there hadn't been a craze for everything British Freddie and crew never could have charted.

come on people - it's all about the dance--look at these goofs live.

This guy has to be on the lower rung of British Invasion talent. I can't stand this record, sorry.
