Overall Meaning

The song "Let's Turn It On" by Freddie Mercury is a feel-good anthem that encourages people to come together and have a good time. The first verse starts with a count-in and a call to action to turn on the energy and get people thinking. The repetition of the word "thinking" emphasizes the importance of mental engagement and perhaps sparks a desire for intellectual conversations amongst people. The song then transitions into a chorus that encourages dancing and emphasizes the need for the right impression. The repetition of "turn it on" emphasizes the importance of action and the call for change, perhaps in society or perhaps in oneself.

The second verse continues with the idea of getting people involved and engaged. The repetition of "let's get it on" suggests a desire for something exciting and a need for engagement with life. The second chorus similarly emphasizes the need for the right impression and highlights dancing as a way to attain that impression. The breakdown section slows down the song's tempo and calls for the listener to get into a "lovely feeling." The final verse continues with the desire to get people together and happy, ending with the line "Let's make everybody crazy," which could be interpreted as a call to let loose and have fun.

Overall, "Let's Turn It On" is a song that encourages people to come together and have a good time without worrying about the troubles of the world. It highlights the importance of mental engagement, dancing, and the right impression to create a sense of unity and happiness among people.

I love Freddie's solo songs. Much as I admired the other Queen members, Freddie's performance on nearly all their songs made a difference in their joint work that raised it up a notch.

I just found out that John Deacon joined Queen when he was 19. He was so young! Amazing. Seems like despite all their other planned careers, these four were so obsessed with music that they pursued it instead.

Music is universal and emotional magnetic.
