Ii
Frederik Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

lokikirjaan siirtyy piirteet sielussain.

lokikirjaan siirtyy piirteet sielustain

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Frederik's song "Ii" describe the journey of the singer along a road, as they head towards their destination. They light a new cigarette as they turn onto Rantatie, and the west wind soon turns to the north, causing sleet to pour down from the sky. The singer tries to spit on the icy road, but the saliva freezes before it hits the ground. They wonder what they are doing there, and the road seems as slippery as it would be for a sled. They consider if there is a hotel nearby, and when they find one, they check into a room upstairs. The singer then sets their gaze upon the daughter of the landlord, as she brings them a drink they ordered. They develop a plan and make a call to the service center, pretending to have a problem with their car engine. As they enjoy the night with a drink, they make a note in their logbook, before continuing their journey.

The lyrics of "Ii" capture an atmosphere of a long night's journey, with the road and the changing weather acting as powerful symbols of the challenges that the singer must face. The coldness of the weather and the harshness of the road reflect the cussedness and uniqueness of the characters in the area. The twist in the song comes when the singer arrives at the hotel and meets the daughter of the landlord, providing them with a purpose and an evening filled with enjoyment.

@tyler1107

I relate to this guy:
Love physic
Love natural world
Love language
Love birb

“Hey here’s a fuck ton of responsibility”
“ :( “

Except I would probably make things worse instead of better with reforms to the nobility, so he’s me but better

1:15 Wow emperor Henry sure did live for a long time, I had no idea. I could have sworn he actually died in 1197, but nope, the man lived right up through German Reunification. Wild.

@Iyumni

I was about to say the same.

@InquisitorThomas

To be fair the man was the AntiChrist, he could probably use Dark Magic to achieve Lichdom.

@broseph3321

German reunification brought tears to holy Roman emperor Henry

@spottedDeath983

That was a long three years for Sicily

Frederick II: Any news?
Courtier: The pope has sent another strongly worded letter.
Frederick II: Another excommunication?
Courtier: No, your majesty. He has declared you an ancestor of the antichrist.
Frederick: Ah, he's been feeling creative.

@paulgibbon5991

You'd think if the Pope could identify who the ancestors of the Antichrist were, they'd either kill them or give them a very generous bribe never to have kids. End of the world averted!

@AB-dm1wz

Where's this from?

@A B Nowhere, I made it up
