UFOria
Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I sing in colors.
My mother is god.
My father is god.
My brothers.
My sisters.
All are god.

God to the right.
God to the left.

God overhead
Christ-encounter of the fourth kind.

Overall Meaning

The song "UFOria" by Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects is about the singer's supernatural, spiritual experiences of encountering God and his siblings. The lyrics are full of abstract imagery, symbolisms, and metaphors. The singer proclaims that he sings in colors, indicating that the music and emotion that he expresses are multi-dimensional and vivid. He then affirms that his mother, father, brothers, and sisters are all God, signifying that he sees divinity in all beings and everything around him.

The repetition of the word "God" throughout the verses and the chorus creates a chanting effect, perhaps implying that the singer is in a trance-like state of awareness. When he says "God to the right, God to the left, God overhead," he might be describing a multi-dimensional spiritual realm where divinity surrounds him from all angles. The last line, "Christ-encounter of the fourth kind," can be interpreted in various ways. It could mean that the singer has experienced a divine encounter of the highest level, perhaps similar to an alien abduction encounter of the fourth kind, as per ufology classification.

@Yggdra666

I love music to the point where I've always said that I do not have a favorite album. I listen to anything, from tibetan ceremonial music to noise, anything I can get my hands on.
But this.. this is something else.

I can listen to this album 3 times a day and not get bored of it. Since I have found this album about 5 months ago I have listened to this easily over 100 times and I still love it like the first time I've listened to it. I have never heard of a single piece of music that has been able to capture my attention for this long in such an intense manner even though I know of some strong contenders, this one takes the cake by a long shot.

Thank you Fredrik, thank you Morgan and thanks to everyone else involved in the production of this, in my eyes, absolutely flawless piece of Art.
I will carry this until the day I die.

This album has enough riffs for 10 metal bands entire careers. Best Jazz Metal album ever.
