No instrument is easy to play, that's true. However guitar is easier then some others. EXPESSCIALY THE VIOLIN LIKE WOW YOU NAILED THAT. Everyone says malukah's the best. But disagree. YOUR EQUALLY AS GOOD, HECK I THINK BETTER. amazing!!! (Violin is pretty hard to learn, so is cello) I just wanted to say this was a very good cover and I appreciate it very much so.

What i'll say does not have the purpose of being offensive in any way possible, just tell your cameraman, or you if you made that choice, to avoid close shots of you staring at the camera at point blank. It's not you at all, it just often makes people uneasy and some might quit the video just because of that, i tell you because it almost happened with me. Again it has nothing to do with you, and once you get passed that point of accepting someone staring at you this whole time while listening it's very beautiful, no regrets, even added it to my playlist i listen to everyday. Just saying because your work is full of talent and it would be too bad for it to not be accessible to some people just because of some stylish and kinda futile requirements. Keep up what you do best you're awesome !

If you don't count the hundreds of hours I've sunk into Skyrim, I guess I worked it out as I went along :') I think my first time playing it was when it was being recorded. The singing in Dovah however was the hard part ;)
I've been playing violin for about 16 years, started when I was 8 :)

Archey no2 Absolutely give it a go! Some of my students (I'm a violin and singing teacher when I'm not recording) started around your age and it's honestly never too late to start learning :) My oldest students were in their 60's!
if you're UK based, I'd recommend 'A New Tune A Day' - this is what I use with my older students since it starts quite simple but allows lots of progression before having to get a new book. Any violin is fine, I recommend Stentors but most budget violins will be fine with a little TLC/filing down the bridge. Don't opt for electric straight away as it's heavier and harder to hold. Make sure you get a proper shoulder rest (I use Wolf shoulder tests, but similar are fine) since the weight of the violin should be held with your shoulder and chin and not your wrist. Make sure your bow is flat to the strings and is at 90° to them or you risk catching the bow hairs on the body of the violin when playing on the G string. When tuning the violin, push the pegs in at the same time and only move the pegs bit by bit (strings can be easy to snap, particularly the E). make sure you hold down the strings with the tips of your fingers, not the pads of them (something I lovingly refer to as 'squashed banana fingers' :P) and bear in mind it will sound at least somewhat unpleasant for a good while until it starts to sound musical. This is normal and is absolutely fine so don't put any pressure on yourself or judge yourself too harshly if it sounds bad - it's a hard instrument to learn! Finding another violinist or going to a couple of lessons with one so they can put tape/dots on your fingerboard so you know where to put your fingers may be useful, and make sure all your fingers are bent/not locked out on your bow hand to allow for better control and freer movement.

This is just some of the advice I normally give to brand new students so hopefully it can prepare you a little - seriously give it a go, all the cool people play violin :P

Your voice and talent are really great, but I must confess I prefer the songs where there's more singing and less musical interludes. My favorite is Fear not this night, just perfect for my ears. But that's my taste, not criticism! Just keep on making music. :)
