Ånnevik grew up in Ridabu, near Hamar, and was involved in music and theatre during her formative years. In the spring of 2009 she produced a demo with her own songs, and sent it to Grappa Music. This resulted in her receiving the fourth “New Artist Prize” from Grappa Music, following in the footsteps of Siri Nilsen, Gjermund Larsen and Valkyrien Allstars. The jury gave the following ground for awarding the prize to Ånnevik. Ånnevik’s first record, Synlige hjerteslag, was formed together with producer Andreas Mjøs (Jaga Jazzist, Adjagas, Susanna and the Magical Orchestra). It was voted the best Norwegian-language album of the year by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s programme “Norsk på Norsk” on the radio station P1, and was featured on lists of the year’s best albums by the TV show “Lydverket” and the newspaper Vårt Land, among others. She presented a very successful concert at the By:Larm festival in 2011, and was the opening act for the artist Odd Nordstoga in several of Norway’s largest cities. Her singles “Strået” and “Snubletråd” were in heavy rotation on the P1 radio programme in 2011. Ånnevik was nominated for a Spellemannspris, the Norwegian Grammy, both as newcomer of the year and in the folk category. She was also the first winner of the “Lyspunkt” award, which was newly established by the Norwegian Lyricist Fund for a first album, and received the Vidar Sandbeck Cultural Award, “Regnbågåbrua”.
In 2012 she received glowing reviews for a joint concert tour throughout south-eastern Norway together with the group Narum, among others, called “Trassviser og Tordenskrell”, a sort of Norwegian dialect version of the Rolling Thunder Revue of the 1970s. Later that year she participated in a project based on the works of poet Hans Børli together with the band “In the Country”, the duet “Akurat hær, akurat nå” together with the artist Ravi, and the song “Revevise” on a tribute album to Thorbjørn Egner, Vi har den ære. She collaborated with Andreas Mjøs on the song “Magefølelsen” for the documentary Beretninger om begynnelser, which was aired on TV2 in the spring of 2012.
Frida Ånnevik’s second album, "Ville Ord", was released in September 2013.

De Dagene Jeg Mister Ting

Og glemt
Jeg er sikker på jeg la det
At jeg la det der
At tråden som glapp
Hadde jeg, hadde jeg her
Men det som lå
Oppå et skap
Og ligger der i støvet - i støvet
For det er stort sett
To sett med dager
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Og dager hvor jeg finner dem igjen
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Og dager hvor jeg finner dem igjen
Et busskort, en vott og en giftering
Vi bærer så mange mistelige ting
Det du har visst om
Men gjømt
To sett med dager
To sett med dager
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Og dager hvor jeg finner dem - igjen
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Frida Ånnevik's song "De dagene jeg mister ting" (The days I lose things) is a song about losing and finding things. The lyrics contain vivid and powerful imagery that creates a sense of loss and longing. The song starts with the first verse where the singer talks about something that they have lost and forgotten, and they are sure they have left it somewhere. The sense of frustration and despair permeates the lyrics as the singer keeps wondering where they could have left the thing. The second verse continues with the same theme and provides more context, and the singer mentions a lost bus pass, a glove, and a wedding ring, which are all things lost in daily life, and which are not hugely significant, but they still elicit an emotional response.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea that there are two types of days: the days when the singer loses things and the days when they find them again. This creates a sense of hope and a belief that eventually, things will be found, and the sense of loss and despair will dissipate. The repetition of the lines "Det er de dagene jeg mister ting/Og dager hvor jeg finner dem igjen" (Those are the days I lose things/And days when I find them again) highlights the cyclical nature of life and how losses and finds come and go.
The third verse combines past and present by mentioning a lost thread that was once there but is no longer, and then the feeling that things are falling apart a little now. The final lines of the song return to the contradictory theme of things having fallen behind or up high and out of reach but still being present.

Noe har jeg mista
I have lost something
Og glemt
And forgotten
Jeg er sikker på jeg la det
I am sure I left it
At jeg la det der
That I left it there
At tråden som glapp
That the thread slipped
Hadde jeg, hadde jeg her
If I had it, I would have it here
Men det som lå
But what was lying
Oppå et skap
On top of a cabinet
Har falt ned bak
Has fallen behind
Og ligger der i støvet - i støvet
And lies there in the dust - in the dust
For det er stort sett
For the most part
To sett med dager
Two types of days
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Those are the days I lose things
Og dager hvor jeg finner dem igjen
And days when I find them again
Et busskort, en vott og en giftering
A bus pass, a glove, and a wedding ring
Vi bærer så mange mistelige ting
We carry so many lost things
Det du har visst om
What you have known about
Men gjømt
But hidden
For sånn som du sa det, hadde noe å si
Because the way you said it meant something
There was a hint of something there that I missed
A word - with a bitter taste, because there was something behind it
Og det henger i lufta - i lufta
And it hangs in the air - in the air
A thread, a look, and the feeling that things are falling apart for us now - and then
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Those are the days I lose things
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Those are the days I lose things
Det er de dagene jeg mister ting
Those are the days I lose things
Og dager hvor jeg finner dem - igjen
And days when I find them again
