We don't act between us like just friends, actually we act a little bit more than that. Also, I can tell we feel that barrier between us you don't want to put down in order ti avoid messing up when being around your crush.

I think I don't really have that much of romantic feelings, it's more platonic than romantic but it's kind of a little romantic, you know, because I have a crush on her.

Move on and look for someone who wants to date you. If the person who rejected you does like you and wants to date you in future , then the ball is in their court , let them ask you out. It really comes down to just being honest with her. I told her about my feelings, got rejected, I accepted it and we went on being friends. You don't have to completly loose interest in her to be friends again, you just have to truly accept her feelings and mentally move on. Talking helps, you can work your relationship out like adults.

I met this guy at a church camp and we became really good friends and it was really fun to talk to him and he's really talented and i guess his qualities made my heart flutter a little. We kept on talking to each other and of course we FaceTimed and called when we were bored and just wanted to talk. At that time I really had the feeling that we had some kind of chemistry going on because I thought "what guy would FaceTime with a girl late at night and sacrifice his sleeping schedule" or something like that. And of course I got more curious and curious by time. I also talked a lot about him with my friends and my sister and they all gave me different advices which helped a lot actually. So in the perspective of being "friends" i asked him if he wanted to go eat together but just the two of us. It was a really nice "date", we ate pizza walked along side the river and talked and talked and talked and it was soooo much fun. That day I promised myself that I would ask him how he feels about me and I actually did. He also payed for everything we ate and drank. I thought those were signs and I thought he would notice my "obvious" hints. Finally when we were at the train station before our ways split, I genuinely asked him "hey what is this thing going on between us?" And seems like he didn't really get my question. Now it was too late and I was kind of struggling so I had to call him that night again and explain him again and in the end I clearly said "You know I like you and I wanted to know how you feel about me." He was really quiet and just said "ummmm" and he said he doesn't know yet and I offered that he can answer my question later when he's sure. Next day in church, completely awkward. Like fukk that was not my intention. But of course I can relate I mean if someone would just confess out of nothing that would make my head go crazy. But I'm just being honest with my feelings. The same day I was really annoyed because I was still expecting my answer. I got home, no answer. I texted my friend and she said I should just contact him again. I thought it was a bad idea but I did it anyway. He was apologizing for the late reply but I said it was fine. And finally he told me that he doesn't know me that long and that we're still friends. He didn't really reject me directly but instead he said "i think we don't know each other very well, and i think we're still friends." Of course I got a little too excited because he didn't really dumb me but still. I don't know what's going to happen with my feelings and his but after that I texted him "hey but still let's just hang out normally" and after that we had our normal Facebook convos going on. I was really happy. But now I have the feeling that I'm not so close to him anymore and i really wanna call him again and just talk and talk about our days and so on. But I feel like he's thinking even tho I said that I wanted to hang out normally, that my former actions were because I liked him in a romantic way. Actually at first we were just friends but I developed a crush so... i guess from his perspective it's like josh said, he thinks that my actions come from my feelings towards him but I just wanna be "friends" again. Wow this post is already 2 years old... I’d never thought that someone would actually read this and reply. If you’re curious... at the end we should just invest time in ourselves and not get too attached too quickly. I feel like it’s not good for myself at least to “open up” my heart too much because I’m just the type that would pour everything into someone if I’m really in love but I feel like that’s where the huge disappointment and insecurity comes from. I don’t wanna say that it’s bad to love someone so badly, but in the end you’re the only person you can trust. Even if you’re in a healthy relationship, never lose yourself for another person. Reciprocity is THE DEAL. I just wanted to put this here for everyone who are going thru rejection and breakups etc. There’s so many more people that you’re gonna meet, so try not to look at everything from one perspective because that’s what’s gonna make you settle and keep doing you. Another person should not be filling your inner void. And the real update here: We’re just friends now, there’s no awkwardness between us (I think it’s also because it’s been 2 years) and we barely talk to each other and I got zero feelings for him, but now I just feel like that was a good experience. What hurts the most is when you give them your best and all that you can to make them happy and being there for them when they need you the most and then they tell you that there seeing or talking to someone else that's when you go to depressed mood. Like you feel like you wasted your time and effort. You gave them all that you can and yet you get rejected. After her rejection, we still hung out a while and my feelings faded after a while. I liked someone else, who we'll call Abby, but that crush faded surprisingly quickly. Then my feelings for Emma were slowly coming back. Then she got a girlfriend (she's bi). You might've thought I would be hurt. No, I was SOO happy for them. I was happy to have LGBT friends that stood up for something and I didn't have to be confused about my feelings anymore. Now I don't like Emma, and I like someone completely different. And Emma and I are, if anything, closer than we originally were. I also told her about how I liked Abby and my feelings fading back for her, and she was happy that I was happy. What I'm saying is, getting friend-zoned, doesn't have to end the friendship. It CAN go back to normal, and maybe even better like it did with my friendship.

So I'm going to tell my story that sort of contradicts what the video says. I asked out my best friend of four, almost five years, near the end of 2016. She, being the super kind person she is, said yes, although a few days later she admitted that she didnt actually like me in that way, and just didn't want to hurt me (and I was mentally prepared to be rejected when I asked, not a few days later, so she unknowingly caused more damage by trying not to cause damage) after that whole encounter, we went back to the way we were before, and neither of us ever even mention that it happened cause it's an awkward subject for the both of us. Fast forward half a year later to now, and we're still best friends, like I had never even asked her out. Although, I admit that I have been "studying" (for lack of a better work) to see if we really are a compatible pair, along with working to get her to like me, and with regular best friend stuff on top of that.

So basically I like this boy (Let's call him Boy A) for 4 years and I had been rejected tons of times. Then, I met another guy, which I'll name him Boy B. Firstly, I was just seen as a mutual friend. Soon after, Boy B and I texted everyday. Gradually, I started to have feelings for him. I told myself it mustn't be true love because I liked Boy A for years and somehow, I just lost interest in Boy A. There's this girl that's in the same classroom ... Got rejected a few months ago and I still have a strong bond with that friend, even though I'm over her now. I'm happy to give a bit of advice on how to stay friends with someone who rejected you.
1. Make sure you know if you both want to stay friends. Friendship goes both ways, and if they don't want to stay friends with you or vice versa, or even both, you can forget about staying friends with that person.
2. Understand that this situation is not your fault or their fault. Try not to develop anger or hatred against yourself or your friend. No one choses who they fall in love with.
3. If you can bring yourself to do so, let your friend know that you want to stay friends. I sent her a message saying I didn't blame her and needed some time away from her to figure things out and she let me know she was sorry and understood.
4. Spend some time away from your friend and keep yourself busy.
5. Let your emotions out. DON'T SURPRESS THEM. You'll probably find yourself crying a lot, so just let it out. Don't be ashamed, and don't hold back too much.
6. When you're ready, get back into contact with your friend. Be honest about your feelings. A true friend will understand and support you.
