Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Ouvi ele chamando o Guilherme
Nessa hora eu tipo "repete"
Pedi cinco reais, a tia disse "eu só sou mãe do Guilherme"
Então levei o CD na mão leve
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Hits como Sean Paul, Eminem show
Do racionais meu pai grilou e quis trocar num pornô
Um dia eu comentei com meu primo
Quando eu escuto rap, eu penso tipo "eu consigo"
Eu sei você não entende, eu não ligo
Eu sei você sente e sabe do que eu falo, eu 'to falando contigo
Alguns buscam água e nós somos a fonte
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel
Ainda paga aluguel
Um dia eu conheci o Henrique e ele me disse
Montei meu próprio estúdio no quarto e
Meus manos olhavam tipo "você 'tá louco, é"
A minha família olhava "Renato, olha no bolso"
Meio quilo
Ficou a mãe, o filho, a mina dele teve um faniquito
Os 'home descobriu só pelo assovio
The lyrics of Froid's song "Sk8 do Matheus" touch upon themes of struggle, resilience, and the impact of a supportive mother. The repeated phrase "Eu só 'to aqui porque minha mãe ainda paga aluguel" (I'm only here because my mother still pays rent) emphasizes the artist's motivation and gratitude towards his mother's sacrifices. He recognizes that his current position and success are a result of her ongoing financial support.
The song also reflects on the artist's fascination with the sky and his adolescent frustration with God. He recalls a desire to have a skateboard like his friend Matheus and even considers asking Matheus if he can take a ride on it. The lyrics further delve into the artist's memories of his friend Guilherme's mother and her relationship with Jeff, who was known for pirating reggae discs. It is during this time that the artist becomes aware of hip-hop, or as they called it, "rap."
The second verse highlights the artist's musical influences and his passion for rap. He mentions specific artists like Sean Paul, Eminem, and Racionais MC's. He alludes to his father's disapproval of Racionais MC's and recalls discussing his love for rap with his cousin. The artist reflects on the impact of rap music, specifically mentioning 50 Cent's influence and his own perception of the rapper as a successful African American who didn't go to college and overcame his past as a drug dealer.
The final verse touches on the artist's journey and his determination to pursue his musical aspirations. He references his friend Henrique, who also has a mother who pays rent, and imagines the potential sadness that could be portrayed in a music video. The artist reveals his decision to set up his own studio in his bedroom, which initially faced skepticism from his friends and family. Despite the challenges, he perseveres and recognizes the importance of his mother's advice to not complain and save money.
