This is as clean as it gets. I was in 10th grade when this song came out and it broke the color barrier. EVERYBODY listened and danced to this and it played on every radio station. The OJays were on American Bandstand AND Soul Train. Love these guys.

In the 70’s people would laugh and point at me dancing at the stoplights.

It didn’t dissuade me. I’m 67 now, and I still groove to this song.

The only difference now is that I don’t even notice if somebody points me out.

If you are not listening to this song under a good set of cans or earbuds, you are missing 80% of it. The bass beyond the opening signature lick is amazing, the horns, percussion, and tastefully placed guitar scratches are special. I can’t believe the harmonies and layers of this song. It builds up to where I didn’t even want it to end.

I’ve heard this song my whole life and didn’t really think twice about it but I just got the urge to listen to it about 8 minutes ago and now I’m going for a second listen lol.
