prologue
Furia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Furia's song Prologue depict a happy time in a village where the sun would shine every morning on the thatched roofs of their homes, and life would awaken in a paradise filled with greenery. The elves, fairies, and other forest creatures spent their days blissfully in this nest of love where nothing could seem to break their peace. However, the main character, Miran, was marked with a symbol on the hollow of his neck that the prophecies announced as belonging to the circle of high priests of the temple of ice. This temple was said to have erected its ark of misery in the depths of the frozen earth. Despite these ominous warnings, Miran was the kindest and most helpful boy in the village. The spiritual leader of the village feared for Miran's future.

The lyrics then take a darker turn, with the spiritual leader cursing Miran, calling him the "scourge of our fate and the cause of our death." Miran does not understand the meaning of these hurtful words and begins to run towards the forest. He reaches the edge of the woods and takes the well-trodden path towards the well. This is where he usually spends his time playing with the fairy Milara, the protector of the well.

The song's lyrics mix elements of a fairy tale with a foreboding sense of danger and doom. It paints a picture of an idyllic village where harmony and happiness once reigned but now faces an uncertain future with the appearance of Miran's symbol and the prophecies surrounding it.
