The band went through three different lead singers, Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), Jason Gleason(Affinity, and later ActionReaction) and finally Jon Bunch (Sense Field). The final line-up:
Jonathan Bunch - Vocals (Sense Field)
Josh Colbert - Guitar
Chad Neptune - Bass Guitar (Strongarm)
Steve Kleisath - Drums (Strongarm, Shai Hulud, En Masse)
Derick Cordoba - Guitar.

In late 2005, FSF went on a long hiatus. And in January 2006, the band posted a message on their website announcing that their shows in early 2006 through the United States and Canada would be their last as a band. During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011

Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When we get in close
Take it from inside
Before they ever know
And if we work it nice and slow
Down we go
Take our time under watchful eyes
Only a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone so I'll make my way my own
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone tell me who will ever know
Can we settle scores
Before the will gets cold
Can we level more
Before the windows closed
If we take it nice and slow
When we go
Only a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone I will make my way my own
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone tell me who will ever know
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone I will make my way my own
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone tell me who will ever know
Only a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone I will make my way my own
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone tell me who will ever know
Just a stone who could notice
Here in the poems and I'm looking
Just a stone
Just a stone from kings canyon
Only a stone tell me who will ever know
If we take it nice and slow
Tell me who will know
The lyrics to Further Seems Forever's song "King's Canyon" describe a sense of secrecy and hiddenness in a relationship, as well as a desire to keep things private and unobserved by others. The song's narrator suggests that he and his partner can keep things hidden if they take it slow and keep their interactions understated. The repeated phrase "only a stone from king's canyon" may reference the idea that they are close to something monumental or significant, but that it is still out of reach or out of sight. The song ends with the question, "tell me who will know," underscoring the sense of ambiguity and mystery that runs throughout the lyrics.
While the actual meaning of the lyrics is left somewhat open to interpretation, there are a few possible themes that emerge. One is a sense of emotional guardedness or fear of intimacy, as seen in the repeated references to keeping things hidden and secret. Additionally, the idea of being "only a stone" away from something important could symbolize a feeling of being on the brink of success or fulfillment, but not quite there yet. Finally, the idea of being "watchful" or aware of others could highlight a desire to avoid judgment or criticism, perhaps even in the form of societal or cultural norms.

Still strange seeing Chris without a guitar. This is like an entire album of How to Start a Fire. I'm good with that.

2021? I've just discovered FSF not long ago and fell in love with this. Btw, happy 20th anniversary of the "The Moon Is Down" album. My favorite album from this band. Penny Black is good too though!
