During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011
Pride War
Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For a tar and feathered heart
A 25 cent execution
To hear your anthem praises played
On frequency decayed
A breath of frigid, self-made winter
Sing out and sing loud
So hold on, hold on
This is the end of the line
I'm not falling
Of beautiful, sacred things
Your immaculate disguise
I'm trading it in,
I'm trading it in for my pride war emblem
As if I would fall to pieces,
As if I would fall to pieces in the wake of your design
I'm not falling
Sing out and sing loud
We'll sing as loud as you do
So hold on, hold on
This is the end of the line
I'm not falling
(Sing out, Sing out, Sing out, Sing out)
Sing out and sing loud
(Sing loud, Sing loud, Sing loud, Sing loud)
We'll sing as loud as you do
(Hold on, Hold on, Hold on)
So hold on, hold on
(Hold on, Hold on)
This is the end of the line
I'm not falling
Not falling
The lyrics to Further Seems Forever's song "Pride War" suggest a deep anger and a declaration of standing up for oneself. The lyrics suggest that the subject of the song has had enough of the oppressive tactics of another entity, and is ready to declare their own sense of pride and dignity, even in the face of harsh consequences. The opening line, "You'd trade our starving eyes for a tar and feathered heart," paints a picture of someone who is willing to betray and harm others in order to elevate themselves. The line "A 25 cent execution" highlights how cheap and meaningless human life can be to some individuals.
The lyrics also mention "beautiful, sacred things" and an "immaculate disguise," which could suggest a façade that someone is using to hide their true motivations or character. The subject of the song seems to be resisting or pushing back against these negative influences, declaring "I'm not falling" repeatedly throughout the song. The lyrics encourage the listener to "sing out and sing loud," indicating a rallying cry for others to join in and stand up for themselves as well. Overall, "Pride War" expresses a sense of righteous anger and defiance in the face of oppression and betrayal.
