The Fool
Fury Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm searching the love of my life right now
A happier life than now
Because I'm still single yeah
And every night I'm walking the streets alone
Wishing I had someone
Someone to walk me home
So come on now because I wanna give you my world
Come on now Because I wanna feel the love I never felt before yeah
And I'll be a fool
A Fool for your love babe
So come on now take me away
Because I'm sick of this game as everyday is same yeah
I promise I'll make no mistakes
Everyone around me is making love
Is this Christmas night or Valentine
I sit on a table but it's couples only
This waiting game is killing me
So come on now because I wanna give you my world
Come on now because I wanna feel the love I never felt before yeah
And I'll be a fool
A Fool for your love babe
So come on now take me away
Because I'm sick of this game as everyday is same yeah
I promise I'll make no mistakes
My heart is broken
My mind is sore
I've been drinking wine
Because I feel alone
Someone broke my heart
Ripped me apart
Now I need someone to heal my scars
So come on now, because I wanna give you my world
Come on now because I wanna feel the love I never felt before yeah
And I'll be a fool
A Fool for your love babe
So come on now take me away
Because I'm sick of this game as everyday is same yeah
I promise I'll make no mistakes
And I'll be a fool
A Fool for your love babe
So come on now take me away

Because I'm sick of this game as everyday is same yeah
I promise I'll make no mistakes

Overall Meaning

Fury's song "The Fool" is a commentary on the importance of questioning authority and society's tendency to silence those who ask too many questions. The first verse begins with the lines "Good morning, sit down, don't sing anybody's anthem till you know what's on his mind". It's a call to action for listeners to not blindly follow what they are told without first understanding the intentions of those in power. The next line, "keep the little grey ones working, don't believe them deaf and blind", is a reminder to not underestimate those who may not have a voice in the mainstream media, and to be skeptical of those who are seemingly uninformed.

The chorus emphasizes the importance of asking questions, even in the face of those who try to silence you. The lyrics repeat the lines "ask them questions, where, when, who and why?" as a reminder to always seek more information and a deeper understanding of the world around you. The following lines, "shut up, yo mama tells ya, shut up, yo teacher tells ya to, and you're gonna be their fool", are a commentary on how authority figures may try to silence those who question them in order to maintain power and control.

The song ends with the command "sit down", perhaps a nod to the idea that questioning authority may often require taking a seat at the table and engaging in dialogue rather than blindly following the status quo. Overall, "The Fool" is a thought-provoking and timely reminder to always ask questions and challenge authority.

@jamesneylan7631  Are you havin a laugh with me mate?

Harrison de Joux

Agreed, they really were able to work as a cohesive pair throughout the movie.

Harrison de Joux

@Stephen Byrne I heard it was because Theon and Hardy were basically stuck together on an 80 hr road trip, (which is what the film is) and they drove each other nuts. But at the end of it all they did have an amount of respect. Tom left Charlize a note saying you drive me nuts but I respect you and your work

James Neylan

@Stephen Byrne but there stunt doubles love each other. they even got married

Stephen Byrne

Interesting fact: In the real world, Max and Furiosa hate each-other. Apparently they've got some real creative differences.
