In 2007, the band announced the release of a career-spanning retrospective called "Don't look back", to be accompanied by a tour. Following the completion of that tour in late August 2008, the group entered an indefinite hiatus.
The brothers Wingenfelder reformed as Wingenfelder & Wingenfelder and have released three albums and a b-sides album, with plans record a fourth in 2017. Rainer Schumann released a solo album under the name Schumann. Christof Stein formed Wohnraumhelden and has released three albums under that name.
In 2016, the band reformed for their 30th anniversary, and released a new track. Additional new tracks were included in the band's new retrospective "30 - The Ultimate Best Of Collection."

Bar des Boulistes
Fury In The Slaughterhouse Lyrics

But close to Marseille
There's a little cute town
Where we decided to stay
Everything was fine
And nothing that we missed
Where we spent all night
A pluspoint is
If you drive a French car
And laugh about jokes
'Bout the second World War
But if you don't
Mr. Fernandel will clinch his fist
And knock you out
Out of the Bar des Boulistes
The Bar des Boulistes
All our problems so far away
So we drank all night
And we slept all day
For a beer drinking German it's hard to exist
With French wine junkies
At the Bar des Boulistes
At the Bar des Boulistes
Bar des Boulistes
Hey, hey
Bar des Boulistes
All our problems so far away
So we drank all night
And we slept all day
For a beer drinking German it's hard to exist
With French wine junkies
At the Bar des Boulistes

The lyrics of Fury In The Slaughterhouse's song Bar des Boulistes paint a picture of a little town close to Marseille that the band has decided to stay in. The bar that they frequent, the Bar des Boulistes, seems to be their little haven where all their problems are far away, and they can drink and have fun all night, sleeping all day. The lyrics speak about the French character, particularly their love for wine, and how one must not make fun of the Second World War because it can lead to unwanted confrontations. The song is an ode to the little moments of joy and freedom that people should indulge in, no matter how far they are from home.
The song is a fast-paced rock number with catchy lyrics that allow listeners to sway along. The lead vocalist's voice adds to the song's charm, making it sound like an anthem rather than just a song. The music complements the lyrics perfectly, with the drums and guitar taking center stage. The Bar des Boulistes is an excellent example of a song that will uplift your mood and make you want to groove.
