In 2007, the band announced the release of a career-spanning retrospective called "Don't look back", to be accompanied by a tour. Following the completion of that tour in late August 2008, the group entered an indefinite hiatus.
The brothers Wingenfelder reformed as Wingenfelder & Wingenfelder and have released three albums and a b-sides album, with plans record a fourth in 2017. Rainer Schumann released a solo album under the name Schumann. Christof Stein formed Wohnraumhelden and has released three albums under that name.
In 2016, the band reformed for their 30th anniversary, and released a new track. Additional new tracks were included in the band's new retrospective "30 - The Ultimate Best Of Collection."

Radio Orchid
Fury In The Slaughterhouse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Since her husband died she hasn't been out
She lives in her own world with her own little nightmares
And she's stopped counting the days
She buys a radio station with her husbands legacy
She does her own show 10 hours a day
Plays poems and listens lets feelings run free
So if your world falls down
Can't see the light of day
Call the lady call the station today
And listen
This is radio orchid listen and cry
To all the others that suffer and die
This is radio orchid listen and cry
Take your lonely heart and let fly
Sending her message she's solving the problems
Of millions and millions and who solves hers
The old lady gets older still lives in her old house
But when she dies we'll all live alone
So if your world falls down
Can't see the light of day
Call the lady call the station today
This is radio orchid listen and cry
To all the others that suffer and die
This is radio orchid listen and cry
Take your lonely heart and let fly
Take your lonely heart and let fly
So if your world falls down
Can't see the light of day
Call the lady call the station today
This is radio orchid listen and cry
To all the others that suffer and die
This is radio orchid listen and cry
Take your lonely heart and let fly
Take your lonely heart
and let fly
The lyrics of Fury In The Slaughterhouse's song Radio Orchid tell a poignant story about an old lady who lives in an old house, having isolated herself from the world following the death of her husband. She lives in her own world with her own little nightmares and has stopped counting the days. However, she buys a radio station with her husband's legacy and does her own show for 10 hours a day, playing poems and listening to help people talk their pain away. Her program, called Radio Orchid, becomes a beacon of hope and comfort to those who are suffering and struggling to cope with their own problems. The old lady has a selfless attitude and her empathy for others makes her a lifesaver.
The song suggests that the old lady, despite being able to help millions of people solve their problems, remained lonely and unhappy, and nobody was able to solve hers. The listeners can feel the pain and struggles of the people who call the station, and come to realize that their own problems and loneliness are not unique. The lyrics suggest that by sharing their pain and fears, people can begin to let go of their loneliness, and the old lady's efforts on Radio Orchid led to countless people taking up the chance to talk to someone about what they are going through. Yet, the old Lady lives and dies with her sadness and loneliness, unable to share her own problems and perhaps longing for a listener to help her.
Overall, the lyrics of Radio Orchid are a beautifully crafted story of empathy, loneliness, and the power of communication to lessen the burden of a heavy heart. The song's message reminds us that everyone struggles at some point in their life, and that it is important to reach out to others and offer help, love, and support.
