Their sound intermingled punk rock, pop, dance music, and other styles. Founded in 1985, they initially fostered a raw amateurishness to their playing style, but they later developed into a smoother, sexier look as they seemed to seek controversy. Their first release came in the spring of 1986, a double A sided single (with a blank B-side) of "XX Sex" and "Rules And Regulations". This led to the album release 'Bostin' Steve Austin' (some sources label it as self-titled).
In the summer of 1986, the band teamed up with The Nightingales and Ted Chippington to record a single called "Rocking With Rita (Head To Toe)". The single featured Fuzzbox tackling such dance classics as "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" on the B-side. Still, they failed to break into the U.K. mainstream.
For their next album, 1989's 'Big Bang!, they made an abrupt change and reinvented themselves as more of a slick pop vocal group, with vocalist Vickie Perks being cast centre stage as a budding sex symbol. The album had no musician credits, but the girls apparently did little or no playing, and this seemed a repudiation of their punk DIY ethos. The singles "Pink Sunshine", "Fast Forward Futurama" and "International Rescue" were all co-written by Liam Sternberg.
In 1990, they began work on the new album, but the project was halted after the release of the first single "Your Loss, My Gain" due to Perks' decision to begin a solo career under the name of Vix. Her self-titled album flopped, but Fuzzbox had already broken up.

Smith of Smiths
This had quite a Gothic sound to it, and was acted out with a sense of feeling and drama. The problem was that it was quite a departure for Fuzzbox after what had gone immediately before. A very underrated song. Not better than the original, but just as good.

Never knew Fuzzbox covered this Yoko Ono classic! You live and learn.

I loved Fuzzbox, they were different for the time, their colorful military inspired rock outfits were superb. Good job ladies 😉

I'd forgot how much I liked this group. They should have stayed together, but they straddled yet another mass change of tastes and styles, and found themselves on a lee shore, as it were.

They could've been as famous as Duran Duran

Thoughts:
1. Vix is so stunning. Great video!
2. I really like the dreamy production style.
3. I think I am going to listen to "Big Bang" again...

Lucky I found this again thank you! I had it as an original and the spoken bridge was in English. Two other versions exist with the bridge in Japanese and German-and they are both posted here too!

♥ ♥ ♥ FUZZBOX version of this song!!

Wait, what? They did a version with the Japanese bits in English? Holy crap, it's been thirty years and this is the first I've heard of it.
