When Gillum was in the first grade, his mother left his father, an associate professor of art at CSU Fresno. Gillum moved in with his grandparents in Berkeley, California, where he attended Berkeley High School. They later moved to North Oakland, although Gillum continued to attend school in Berkeley. Gillum attended Loyola University New Orleans, where he graduated with a BA in music industry studies in 2011.
Starting out as a record producer, G-Eazy began working on singles while he was still a student at the Loyola University at New Orleans with his producer Christoph Andersson who also was a student there.[4][5] He gained some recognition for being a part of the new hip hop scene back in the East Bay Area, joining with such artists as Lil B, Crohn and The Cataracs.[6][7] He became a member of a local hip hop group called "The Bay Boyz", who had released several songs on their Myspace page.[8]

20 of us walked up
Fuck you mean you need to see ID?
What you mean?
Bitch you got me fucked up
Have the owner come and get me
Talkin' shit, you tryna start what?
Better have them bottles ready
Bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
Spillin' drinks on my retros
Chill, chill you makin' a mess hoe
As I take a look down, they all scuffed up
I'ma tell 'em like, bitch you got me fucked up
Who got the blow, shit, I'm tryna buy
Fuck that, this shit ain't even get me high
And my dealer got the drugs
But he on some bullshit, bitch you got me fucked up
Where the fuck's my other bottle though?
The DJ is actin' like a ho
You ain't got no G in your serato ho?
(You ain't got no fuckin' Eazy?)
Bitch you got me fucked up
I walk up and say "Bitch you got me fucked up"
Bitch you got me fucked up
Came with my whole gang
20 of us walked up
Fuck you mean you need to see ID?
What you mean?
Bitch you got me fucked up
Have the owner come and get me
Talkin' shit, you tryna start what?
Better have them bottles ready
If not, bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
No one saw me doin' this
People can decide how they're viewin' this
I dunno, Gerald wouldn't do this shit
Say what? Bitch you got me fucked up
She keeps acting like she's tryna fuck
Took her home just to find out what
Fuck you mean its that time of month?! (Gotta be fuckin' kidding me)
Say what? Bitch you got me fucked up
Uh, I'm doin 60 in a 35
Uh, I'm in the Rari, I'm just tryna drive
Cops pull me over say, "Sir are you drunk or high?"
I say, "fuck the fuck off"
Bitch you got me fucked up
Say what? bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
Came with my whole gang
20 of us walked up
Fuck you mean you need to see ID?
What you mean?
Bitch you got me fucked up
Have the owner come and get me
Talkin' shit, you tryna start what?
Better have them bottles ready
If not, bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
I say fuck the fuck off
Bitch you got me fucked up
Say what
Bitch you got me fucked up
I say fuck the fuck off
Bitch you got me fucked up
What
Bitch you got me fucked up
Came with my whole gang
20 of us walked up
Fuck you mean you need to see ID?
What you mean?
Bitch you got me fucked up
Have the owner come and get me
Talkin' shit, you tryna start what?
Better have them bottles ready
If not, bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
Bitch you got me fucked up
In "Me & U" by G-Eazy ft. JAB & Rome, G-Eazy and his crew, comprised of twenty people, head to a club where they face issues with the bouncer and bar staff. G-Eazy asserts his authority and proclaims that the owner needs to come to retrieve him. He remains unbothered by the DJ's questionable music choices and the lack of drugs, and he continues to enjoy the night with his crew. The second verse sees G-Eazy dealing with a girl who he had taken home and then found out was on her period, implying that he was not pleased. The final verse is G-Eazy getting pulled over by the police, but instead of being meek or scared, he tells them to "fuck the fuck off," before affirming that they "got [him] fucked up."
The lyrics of this song are an example of G-Eazy's signature style of rap, which is characterized by lyrics that blend vulnerability with bluster. He often writes about his own experiences in a way that is relatable to many different listeners, and he uses vivid imagery and humor to convey his message. In the case of "Me & U," G-Eazy is showcasing his confidence and status, which he does by exclaiming how "bitch you got [him] fucked up," a line that is repeated multiple times throughout the song.
