Sleep with one eye open, in case they try and move in stealth
And my mama's worried 'bout me, but I ain't scared to go to hell
Only God can judge me, it's just I, me and myself, yeah
It's just I, me and myself
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
You know that they be crawlin', if they buyin', I'm gon' sell, yeah
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
Uh, it's just I, me and myself
Long lines on AC Transit, I put that Illmatic CD on
Lookin' out the window, at the walls they put graffiti on
Passin' by the billboards I knew one day I would see me on
But until then, just keep keepin' on
Easier said than done, I was the one they kept on sleepin' on
Told me keep dreamin' on
Back then, I had Girbauds, a 3X tall tee, and a beanie on
Who knew that me, myself and I would make it here? That's crazy
A lot of shit has changed since the version I had Bebe on
Love my lil' brother, born a day apart and three years
Both Gemini twins, everything we been through, we share these tears
Every time I look at him, it feel just like I see mirrors
Been through thick and thin, and he helped me get through all these fears, for real
I'm too fucked up (you know), I can't even tolerate myself (love you, bro)
Sleep with one eye open, in case they try and move in stealth (yeah)
And my mama's worried 'bout me, but I ain't scared to go to hell (I be alright, mama)
Only God can judge me, it's just I, me and myself, yeah (you know)
It's just I, me and myself (uh)
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
You know that they be crawlin', if they buyin', I'm gon' sell, yeah
It's just I, me and myself
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
Uh, it's just I, me and myself
You know, uh
Now it's just I, me and myself
They couldn't teach me this, I had to learn to like bein' myself
Got through that self-doubt, now I'm just fine bein' myself
I couldn't look to them, had to go and find me in myself
Well, now I got it though
Put 'em skeletons in my closet and told 'em, "Adiós"
Let 'em keep the Prada shoes 'cause I was never proud of those
Made it through those sloppy joes, made it out them stop and goes
Ice cream with the baddest hoes remind me of the rocky roads
I took the scenic
Crazy to call it crazy 'til they get it, then it's genius
And I might be the rapper, but she payin' for all her features
I, me and myself, the only people I believe in
You know, yeah
I'm too fucked up, I can't even tolerate myself
Sleep with one eye open, in case they try and move in stealth
And my mama's worried 'bout me, but I ain't scared to go to hell
Only God can judge me, it's just I, me and myself, yeah
It's just I, me and myself
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
You know that they be crawlin', if they buyin', I'm gon' sell, yeah
It's just I, me and myself
I love my lil' brother, he remind me of myself
I be nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
Uh, it's just I, me and myself
Nasty, on my Nas shit, ain't really hard to tell
Love my lil' brother, it's just I, me and myself
The lyrics to G-Eazy's song "Me Myself & I" delve into the struggles of being oneself while dealing with the pressures and scrutiny of others. Throughout the song, G-Eazy examines his own life and the battles he faces, both internal and external. He reveals that he's "too fucked up" to even tolerate himself, and sleeps with one eye open in case someone tries to move in stealth. G-Eazy's acknowledgment of his imperfections and flaws in such an honest manner is refreshing and relatable.
He also touches on his relationship with his little brother, who reminds him of himself. G-Eazy emphasizes their shared experiences, both good and bad, through Gemini twins, and the tears they've shed together. He reflects on their struggles and how they've helped each other overcome their fears. This is a vulnerable moment in a song that also boasts a confident persona.
G-Eazy's verses also discuss his rise to fame in the music industry. He rhymes about his days riding AC Transit and putting on Nas's Illmatic album, watching graffiti-covered walls pass by as he dreamed of his own billboard. G-Eazy admits that he was once the one everyone overlooked, the one they kept sleeping on. But he never abandoned those dreams, and now he's living them. He doesn't forget his past, however, and acknowledges the significance of where he started.
