When Gillum was in the first grade, his mother left his father, an associate professor of art at CSU Fresno. Gillum moved in with his grandparents in Berkeley, California, where he attended Berkeley High School. They later moved to North Oakland, although Gillum continued to attend school in Berkeley. Gillum attended Loyola University New Orleans, where he graduated with a BA in music industry studies in 2011.
Starting out as a record producer, G-Eazy began working on singles while he was still a student at the Loyola University at New Orleans with his producer Christoph Andersson who also was a student there.[4][5] He gained some recognition for being a part of the new hip hop scene back in the East Bay Area, joining with such artists as Lil B, Crohn and The Cataracs.[6][7] He became a member of a local hip hop group called "The Bay Boyz", who had released several songs on their Myspace page.[8]
In 2008, he was performing at a college talent show and was nearly booed off, when Matt Bauerschmidt noticed him and signed him as a client to his new music management company The Revels Group which he started with Matt Davis.

Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Said all I can, can't say it no more
I tried so hard, can't try no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more, yeah
Yeah, uh
I'm really 'bout to lose my mind, the shit I've had up to here
All the stress you put me through, wish I made that disappear
Think it's time we set some boundaries, let's just establish this here
We've been through it, that's a lot of shit that happened this year
Need someone to talk to like I wish Mac was still here
No Louis, but I can tell that you got baggage's clear
You moved out, but you still be gettin' packages here
Used to say the limelight's, you won't let that interfere
But seems like you actin' different when some rappers is here
Shakin' ass all in the club like how you dance in the mirror
You was listenin' to your girlfriends who you had in your ear
If she know everything to ask her why her man isn't here, for real
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Said all I can, can't say it no more
I tried so hard, can't try no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more, yeah
I'm fed up (oh, yeah)
Fed up (oh, yeah)
I'm fed up (oh, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Fed up (ooh, yeah)
Yeah, uh
I reached my limit, you pushed me to the edge
To the point where you send text and I leave you on read
Wait, you ain't catchin' what I said?
If you think that you one up on me, I'm twenty steps ahead
Don't ask me what's my mood 'cause it's on, fuck you
'Cause you play games and, just for that, girl, I can't trust you
I say this just to make a point, yeah, my heart told me to make this joint
We've been broken long before this breaking point, you know
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Said all I can, can't say it no more
I tried so hard, can't try no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more
Sometimes I just can't take it no more, yeah
Sometimes I just hit that point, I'm like, I can, I can't do this anymore
You're only breakin' me down, you're not buildin' me up
It's too much
