(Some-some-something about the West coast)
It's something in the water
(Something about the West coast)
Ayy, ooh, ayy, ooh (it makes me wanna ride)
You can't imagine the way that this cash feelin' (ooh)
Don't know what's harder, the first or the last million (which one?)
You try to win, cracked you head on the glass ceiling (ow)
What it is, sick wit' it, it is
The way this money look, I'll be signed to Sony for years

Ooh, realest in the room (room)
Could fill a pool with all the alcohol that I consume (ooh)
I'm coming this summer, yeah, it's safe to assume (what?)
I'm finna clean up using Golden State's broom
West Coast, real town business (ayy, ooh)
Puma check just got cleared, merry Christmas
More sales, you catching more L's
I drove here in a Scraper playin' this on four 12's
(Shake it Westside)
(Throw ya hands up, let's ride)
(To the city of the scene)
(Put it on the one, get your body on the dance floor)
It's all love, yeah, and it's never bad, look
(Throw ya hands up, let's ride)
(To the city of the scene)
(Put it on the one, get your body on the dance floor)

Doin' the dash in the Aston up and down Pico (ooh)

The lyrics to G-Eazy's song West Coast are a celebration of the rapper’s home state, California. The opening lines boast of the multitude of ways that people can live and thrive in the West Coast, and encourages listeners to choose one. The following lines repeat the phrase “something about the West Coast” twice, suggesting an unidentifiable quality that makes California unique. The chorus then showcases the driving beat and infectious melody that urges listeners to shake it and throw their hands up in the air.
G-Eazy’s verse focuses on his success as a rapper and the wealth that he has accumulated. He refers to the difficulty in achieving his success, comparing it to hitting his head on a glass ceiling. He also boasts about signing a long-term contract with Sony and his ability to consume large amounts of alcohol. The verse ends with a nod to the recent success of the Golden State Warriors basketball team, with G-Eazy indicating that he will “clean up” using their “broom”.
The final verse features the rapper Blueface, who adds his own unique style of rapping, filled with rhymes and wordplay. He refers to himself as the “face of the West Coast” and boasts about his ability to attract women. He references various locations in California, including Pico Boulevard and Petco Park. The verse ends with Blueface bragging about his wealth and sexual conquests, setting up the chorus for one last time.
