G-Spott is one of the many projects which sees Richard van Schooneveld in the drivers seat. Hits like “No Comment” (2003), “Louder” (2003), “City Streets” (2005) and his latest hit “Sadness” (2006) make G-Spott one of the best known Dutch dance acts ever. Next to G-Spott Richard has produced for many Dutch artists, a.o. the world-famous DJ Jean for which he made “Every Single Day” and “Feel It”. Along the road he has also done remixes for the Italian DJ/producer Mauro Picotto.
The international awareness of Richard Durand has increased enormously in the last couple of months. He has produced well-known club hits like “Make Me Scream”, “Sunhump 2006”, “Slipping Away”, “Inside My Brain”, “Any Time”, “For The Believers 2.0”, and his latest release “Sweep And Repeat”. And then there are the remixes for Tiësto like “Lethal Industry”, “Flight 643” and his latest hit “Break My Fall”.
“My project Richard Durand is taking up all of my time at the moment. I’m travelling abroad every weekend to perform which makes it impossible for me to keep focussing on G-Spott the way I used to.” says Richard van Schooneveld.
Future Productions of G-Spott will still be done by Richard van Schooneveld. The face of the act however will change. More on this subject will follow in the near future.
”Sadness”

That sadness is when you're all alone
It's tragic y'gotta start over
But don't you think there is no cure at all
I know
Your sadness has got you all alone
You had it but then you let it go
Girl, living in your lonesome world
You're thinking
If you let yourself go out there
You'll be too scared
But girl, soon you'll be out of time
No second change
Get things right out there
Better make up your mind
Boy, you're moving in way too fast
You got to try
To make it last somehow
Better relax
Boy, you thought it all was a dream
Love is never what it seems
Oh, boy
You better believe
In G-Spott's song "Sadness," the lyrics express the feeling of facing sadness and being alone. The lyrics begin by acknowledging that sadness accompanies being alone, but it also explains how starting over isn't impossible. The singer encourages the person who is sad to acknowledge that there is still hope and that things can always get better. The second verse is directed towards a woman who lives in a "lonesome world." The singer acknowledges that the woman is scared to go out and experience the world, but if she doesn't, she will run out of time. The chorus repeats the encouragement to believe that everything will work out in the end.
The song then shifts to the perspective of a man who is trying to make a relationship work. The singer emphasizes that he is "moving in way too fast" and needs to relax. The man is told that love is not always what it seems, and he needs to believe and take his time. Ultimately, the singer tells both the man and woman that they need to be patient and believe that things will work out.
