G-Unit was founded shortly after 50 Cent left Columbia Records. The original members were: 50 Cent, Bang Em Smurf, Domination, Lloyd Banks, Sha Money XL & Tony Yayo. These rappers collectively established the group as a whole in 2000; however, after Yayo got a prison sentence 50 Cent signed Young Buck and along with himself and Banks became the three faces of G-Unit. Smurf and Domination left the group due to some problems with the General, 50 Cent.
After being shot, 50 Cent signed to Interscope Records. Due to the success of his commercial debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', he was granted his own record label. This was when 50 and Sha Money XL founded G-Unit Records.
The group continued to work hard and released several mixtape series which earned them a lot of attention in the rap industry. The most prominent of these being 50 Cent Is the Future, God's Plan, No Mercy, No Fear and Automatic Gunfire. G-Unit have also started a mixtape series with their DJ, DJ Whoo Kid, called G-Unit Radio.
These mixtapes gave them a gigantic buzz throughout New York City, which eventually led to 50's first solo album Get Rich or Die Tryin' selling over 12 million copies.
Before the group had a chance to record its debut album, Tony Yayo was sentenced to prison for a gun-possession charge as well as bail-jumping. During Tony Yayo's prison sentence, the group signed Nashville rapper, Young Buck. They continued their activity, working on yet more mixtape recordings. In particular, their 'G-Unit Remix' to 50 Cent's "P.I.M.P." was successful.
During Tony Yayo's prison sentence, G-Unit recorded their debut album, Beg for Mercy. The album was quickly released on November 14, 2003 to combat bootlegging and had significant commercial success. Tony Yayo made only two appearances on the album, both on songs that were recorded before his arrest. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts and sold over 4 million units.
50 Cent later went on to sign The Game, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Olivia, Spider Loc andMase. The Game was asked to be put in the group by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. 50 Cent agreed, and gave 7 of his records which was supposed to go on his second LP The Massacre. After The Game went on the radio and said that he had no problems with some rappers 50 Cent had issues with, 50 felt that Game was disloyal and kicked him out of the group, which lead to the infamous G-Unit vs. The Game/Black Wallstreet meet and beat off.

G G G G G-Unit! Haha!
Vacate your home I come to brake your bones
Americas nightmare we at it again
A desert eagle and a black mack 10
They'll never know what happened
When we come through them cowards don't want none
Come with me but don't run and die where your standin'
See I'm holdin' on this cannon and your life I'm demandin'
Put the pipe to your melon and your brains on the pavement
These niggas is talkin' think that security goin' save them
Nobody gon' speak when homicide pay a visit
Look you right in the eyes and yell ya "we don't know who did it"
Corrupted by street corner by shootin' at the police
The fiends up all night and the neighbors gettin' no sleep
You betta get used to it you know how we do it
Shady Aftermath Interscope and G-Unit
We got action when you don't
Show are places when you won't
G-Unit, G-G-G-G, G-Unit
Now I told ya'll on my first Dre joint I am loco
Betta than so so the games in the choke hold
Dissin' me is a no no I perfected the slow flow

G-Unit in the house, oh no
You ain't ready it's heavy

Old school rollin' I'm holdin'
20 inches spinnin' from the beginnin' we winnin'
Gain's his masculinity pimpin' we not pretendin'
Drop top glock cock ready for the drama
Pistol's pop cop shot I'm heavy with them lama's
Non-sop make it hot we the top regardless
You can be the hardest
We'll just be the smartest
I warn you not to start us
We're not you average artists
My bitch is like a goddess
When paparazzi spot us
Cause flick after flick same ol' shit that I kick, haha!
We got action when you don't
Show are places when you won't
G-Unit, G-G-G-G, G-Unit
Guess who's back motherfucker gun in the clip
Ready to smack up on these suckers that's runnin' they lip
You can try any one of my shoes on none of em fit
Your hundreds are shorter I'll your pops his son is a daughter
All I need is some cigars and quarter a couple cars and a lawyer
Kinda packin' a bitch and I'll be back with a hit
I'm that sick, Who the hell you thought it was
I got expensive habits I can't afford it cause
G-Unit is poppin' and we performin' all the clubs
Niggas be shovin' and pushin' as someone is gooshin' surpise
She's givin' up the buns on her cushion
Sweatin' and screamin' suckin' me off the rest of the evenin'
And I'm leavin', on to the next city
Stashbox in the bus to I can bring the teks with me
I gotta go cause I'm gettin' over you niggas ain't over

G-Unit, G-G-G-G, G-Unit
The song "G-Unit" by G-Unit is a straight-up gangsta rap anthem, filled with lyrics that glorify guns, violence, and drug dealing. The verses are delivered with aggression, and the verses alternate between 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck, each one trying to outdo the other in terms of bravado and lyrical prowess. The chorus features the group chanting "G-Unit" repeatedly, a shoutout to their fans and a symbol of their unity and strength as a group.
The lyrics are fairly straightforward and don't require a lot of interpretation, as they are largely about the group's guns, money, and power. The song opens with a threat to "break your bones" and goes on to describe the group's weapons and their willingness to use them. The second verse is a showcase for 50 Cent, who boasts about his skills as a rapper and his ability to make hits, while also throwing in a few jabs at his haters. The final verse is delivered by Young Buck, who raps about his sexual exploits and his plans to stay on top of the game.
The overall message of "G-Unit" is one of dominance and fearlessness, with the group positioning themselves as the baddest and most dangerous crew on the block. It's a classic example of gangsta rap, with all of the violence and swagger that entails.
